I do think the new slate sound a little bit less generic than the usual CBS fare to be honest. I can imagine Made In Jersey being okay and I think Vegas could be really quite interesting. Anything has to be better than bloody endless CSI variants.

Made In Jersey doesn't look too bad. Not sure about Vegas yet.

They did ditch CSI:Miami!!! New York is easily the best of the three.

After all of the positive comments on here I shall be checking it out, eventually. It's somewhere on the legendary list. I agree that The Mentalist is bloody GLORIOUS! So much fun!

I've fallen so far behind with it, I haven't watched a thing since S2. I do not know when I'm EVER going to catch up given I've got even MORE shows on my list for next season, at least provisionally. I guess I'll just have to prioritise even more than usual. Person Of Interest started a little slow, but really picked up after about episode 5, the finale looks like it's going to be PROPER GOOD.

Season 3 is fantastic. Especially the build-up to the finale and the finale itself. And then season 4 starts incredibly strong and slowly calms the series down having many, although filler but still amazing, episodes. But the end result the writers are trying to get is beyond fantastic and the finale could potentially be the best episode of the entire show judging by the promos and the way the penultimate episode ended.

I'm gonna try and pick it up during the summer if I get time. I'll keep that in mind when I'm going through that but I saw the ratings reflecting that.

I echo what Pavel has said RE:The Mentalist. Season 3 is brilliant and a very good build up to the final.

I have fallen behind and haven't seen most of the fourth season. I've seen the first couple of episodes but that's it. The Mentalist tends to be a show I buy on DVD and then watch in one go. It fills the winter hiatus well as I have a busy summer schedule, more so than ever this year.

CBS sneak peek trailers!

Made In Jersey actually looks like the kind of character driven procedural I could potentially get on board with. WHY that is going out on Fridays I cannot fathom. It's clearly a big breakout role for Janet Montgomery. They should put it at 9 on Sundays with The Good Wife at 10.

Vegas on a visual level looks good but I'm getting Pan Am vibes for reasons unknown. Partners actually looks funny and I say that as someone who hates CBS multicams. Michael Urie is so dreamy. (How the hell did Brandon Routh go from the lead in Superman Returns to supporting cast in a CBS sitcom?!) And Elementary looks shite.

Oh god. The CW schedule that USAtoday (?) were claiming earlier turned out to be true and it isn't great.

ANTM on a Friday with Supernatural to Wednesday, really? Nikita to 9pm, maybe it's true that the affiliates requested it to be moved to 9pm. They're going to be starting their shows in October too to reduce repeats but surely everyone will be invested in other shows by that time and should let people sample the shows before the TV season properly begins.

Carrie Diaries and Cult for midseason. Wednesday and Thursday are their only nights with any potential.

Guess Supernatural moved for couple of reasons. One it being one of their top rated shows, and was probably wasting away on Fridays. Second at times the 'sci-fi' night really affected Supernatural on Fridays. Grimm will probably only get stronger aswell this year. Just shows how weak the CW are though.

I honestly think the CW might be absorbed into another channel if none of these new shows can achieve a 1.0+ demo week in week out. They surely just can't sustain on such shitty ratings...

I think CW have a couple of years to try and turn shit round before CBS and WB pull the plug completely (I can see the WB taking it over and relaunching The WB personally)

I think that's actually quite a good schedule from them. Supernatural will face mass competition from AI/XFUSA but that being on Friday never made sense to me. ANTM is long overdue a Friday move and they could potentially do quite well on Tuesdays with that Medical genre night. Private Practice isn't on until 10 so there's no competition for that market and Emily Owens, M.D. sounds quite good.

In fact, of all their new shows the three they have scheduled for Fall all look really good. Cult looks like something I'll ignore and I'm not really a SATC fan so I'll be ignoring The Carrie Diaries. The latter should do well but the former is probably not going to get a renewal.

Arrow and SPN together makes sense, if they can get the comicbook geeks interested in Arrow that could have a good knock on effect.

Out of all the schedules, I think the CW is actually the best weirdly. The moves make sense and the new shows have been paired well with existing ones.

CW clips!

Emily Owens, M.D. might potentially be good... they need to not overdo the whole high school mean girl thing though.

Beauty and the Beast - pretty badly executed, I found the guys with guns a bit laughable.

Arrow - most promising clip by far! Who knew?

At least she's already used to low-rated shows. :(

'Emily Owens, M.D.' seems like a terrible name but I'll need to check it out just for the wonderful Mamie Gummer.

I'd never heard of/seen Mamie Gummer before I watched the 'Emily Owens, M.D' trailer.. I thought "gosh, she looks like a young Meryl Streep".

Then I googled her. She is the SPITTING IMAGE of her mother!

I'll be giving the first few episodes a go, even though it doesn't look like it could go anywhere..

I'll also give Arrow a go too, it looks quite promising. I'm not too sold on Beauty & The Best at the moment, possibly because I hate the lead actress.

BATB looks AWFUL. It is going to be crushed by Glee/Greys Anatomy. The other two seem alright though.

I'm not sure Glee is in much of a position to crush anything. It has two seasons left in it max.

I meant more in a sense of the competition for the female demographic at that time. I honestly can't see any straight men buying into B&TB. There's a lot of audience overlap between that, Glee and Greys Anatomy which could harm the first two significantly. FOX clearly wants to try and prolong Glee for as long as possible. I haven't watched it since the start of Season 2.

I still haven't seen most of this years Christmas episode. It was so shit I gave up ten minutes in and just deleted it from the hard disk.

I am hoping that this will be the last year of Glee. The writing continues to get worse, there are far too many 'tribute' episodes, I would complain about there not being enough continuity but that would require there being any in the first place and it's already so predictable. Oh look, Rachel sings a solo again. Oh no! Rachel and Finn have had a fight and are now singing about it, AGAIN. So on and so forth.

It's so tired already, a show that had a first season that showed that much promise/was that good should not be this poor/tired already.

Glee is so far the only show I gave up on (not counting those that were cancelled a la A Gifted Man and Unforgettable, for example  ). It's got SO bad, it's a miracle I made myself watch the whole half of season 3.
