May 23, 201213 yr Want: Bulgaria Estonia Macedonia Netherlands Norway Portugal Serbia Slovenia Sweden Ukraine Predict: Bosnia-Herzegovina Estonia Georgia Norway Portugal Serbia Slovenia Sweden Turkey Ukraine I'm already preparing myself to be completely wrong with my predictions by the fact that Georgia, Bosnia and Portugal could easily miss out in favour of Slovakia, Lithuania and Netherlands/Macedonia. It's a far more unpredictable semi final this time round with just 6 definite qualifiers I'd say (Sweden, Estonia, Norway, Serbia, Ukraine and Turkey) and a multitude of borderline songs. Performing in any other slot, Slovenia would breeze through but I am worried something similar to the Belgium/Finland incident on Tuesday might occur again with Slovenia/Croatia. The draw has been awful to so many songs here with many similar tracks being paired up in the running order and the best Dutch entry in years being lumped in third. There will almost definitely be tears.
May 24, 201213 yr My prediction: 01. Serbia: Željko Joksimović - Nije Ljubav Stvar 02. Macedonia: Macedonia - Kaliopi - Crno I Belo 03. The Netherlands: Joan Franka - You and Me 04. Malta: Kurt Calleja - This Is The Night 05. Belarus: Litesound - We Are The Heroes 06. Portugal: Filipa Sousa - Vida Minha 07. Ukraine: Gaitana - Be My Guest 08. Bulgaria: Sofi Marinova - Love Unlimited 09. Slovenia: Eva Boto - Verjamem 10. Croatia: Nina Badric - Nebo 11. Sweden: Loreen - Euphoria 12. Georgia: Anri Jokhadze - I'm a Joker 13. Turkey: Can Bonomo - Love Me Back 14. Estonia: Ott Lepland - Kuula 15. Slovakia: Max Jason Mai - Don't Close Your Eyes 16. Norway: Tooji - Stay 17. Bosnia & Herzegovina: Maya Sar - Korake Ti Znam 18. Lithuania: Donny Montell - Love Is Blind Tough to call, Macedonia or Portugal could easily make it either. Edited May 24, 201213 yr by Sabrewulf
May 24, 201213 yr Here are the best presenters of 2012! Anyone else could've done a better job! Want; Serbia FYR Macedonia The Netherlands Belarus Ukraine Bulgaria Slovenia Sweden Norway Bosnia & Herzegovina Think; Serbia The Netherlands Ukraine Slovenia Sweden Turkey Estonia Norway Bosnia & Herzegovina Lithuania Very wide open. I'm thinking Serbia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, Norway, Bosnia & Lithuania will take up eight places but pretty much anyone could take the final two. I took a stab in the dark at Estonia as I think they might be the next most likely and then more of a hopeful guess at The Netherlands (the same kind of guess I took with Latvia on Tuesday and we know how that went).
May 24, 201213 yr Want: 03. The Netherlands: Joan Franka - You and Me 05. Belarus: Litesound - We Are The Heroes 06. Portugal: Filipa Sousa - Vida Minha 07. Ukraine: Gaitana - Be My Guest 08. Bulgaria: Sofi Marinova - Love Unlimited 09. Slovenia: Eva Boto - Verjamem 11. Sweden: Loreen - Euphoria 16. Norway: Tooji - Stay 17. Bosnia & Herzegovina: Maya Sar - Korake Ti Znam 18. Lithuania: Donny Montell - Love Is Blind Think: 01. Serbia: Željko Joksimović - Nije Ljubav Stvar 06. Portugal: Filipa Sousa - Vida Minha 07. Ukraine: Gaitana - Be My Guest 09. Slovenia: Eva Boto - Verjamem 11. Sweden: Loreen - Euphoria 13. Turkey: Can Bonomo - Love Me Back 14. Estonia: Ott Lepland - Kuula 15. Slovakia: Max Jason Mai - Don't Close Your Eyes 16. Norway: Tooji - Stay 17. Bosnia & Herzegovina: Maya Sar - Korake Ti Znam I agree that this semi is much harder to predict than the first one (where I only got 7/10 right anyway - ha) I feel that this semi is a lot weaker than the first one, but we should see some good qualifiers if things go well.
May 24, 201213 yr I am still yet to hear most of the songs, but as long as Norway go through I'm happy. (Sweden may as well have been allowed to AQ, no way that fails in the semi's)
May 24, 201213 yr I am still yet to hear most of the songs You have had your honorary Euroloon card TORN!
May 24, 201213 yr You have had your honorary Euroloon card TORN! Did he even have one in the first place? :o
May 24, 201213 yr I can think of MANY who could've done a better job Jerick! Right. Almost-certain qualifiers Serbia Sweden Turkey Likely qualifiers Ukraine Slovenia Estonia Norway Bosnia-Herzegovina Potential qualifiers Macedonia Netherlands Croatia Georgia Lithuania Unlikely qualifiers Malta Portugal Slovakia Also-rans Belarus Bulgaria This one's far harder to predict than semi one, and I think we could definitely see a few shocks here. Serbia and Sweden are sailing through, obviously, and I reckon that Turkey will stand out enough (with about 50 votes off the bat in this semi before we even consider those who might like the track) for them to qualify with ease. Ukraine should make it again unless the curse of BLACKS AT EUROVISION (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/Star2003/Recovered_Gif_139.gif) strikes again, which I'm hoping it WON'T. It's a big attention-grabbing stage show and it'd be a massive shame if it didn't make it at least. Slovenia should be through off big jury backing and the sorts who voted for Molitva, and in a Balkan-heavy semi it'd be a bit of a shock if she didn't get through unless their vote fragments hugely. File next to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Norway are on near the end with a track that comes off as an only slightly more professional version of Eric Saade, and I think it'll make it through but I think it's also the most likely to be a shock non-qualifier if the juries hate it. From what I've seen and heard, despite not being the biggest fan of the track I reckon Kuula will stand out hugely amongst everything else and be an easy qualifier near the end. Which leaves us with eight likely qualifiers. Working from the bottom up, Bulgaria comes across awfully on screen and for a dance track to have no choreography's a bit of a mess. Belarus won't stand out at all now they've transformed it into a run-of-the-mill pop track and the pronunciation will come off about as well as Switzerland's did on Tuesday. I don't think the rock constituency is big enough in the semi for Slovakia to make it through and it's lacking in friendly votes in this semi, so I don't think it'll make it but it could be a long-shot. Portugal has a real battle on its hands against all the ballads in this semi - had it been in semi 1 I think it could've been a potential jury pick but it'll really blend in I think unless the juries go all out to save it. Malta...well, it's generic as hell, but that didn't stop One Life nearly making it last year. This would be an also-ran were it not for the complete unpredictability of the juries with stuff like this. So that leaves us with two places left for five countries: Macedonia, Netherlands, Croatia, Georgia and Lithuania. I WANT to say Netherlands and Lithuania but I have an awful feeling I'm going to lose at least one of them. Macedonia's big rock ballad is performed brilliantly by Kaliopi, and the Balkan vote is there, but I reckon it'll be too fragmented with so many Balkan countries in this semi that at least one or two have to miss out, and going on second after Zeljko (which completely negates Kaliopi's star power given he's basically the Balkan MJ popularity-wise or whatever) won't help her cause at all. Croatia might go through but going back-to-back with Slovenia was not the ideal position for the slightly more subtle Nebo, so I think that's another year (sadly) in the semis for them. Which leaves Netherlands, Lithuania and Georgia...Georgia is horrific, my least favourite entry in years, and the friendly votes are there for them if they want them. I live in hope that the juries will slaughter Anri and leave it smothered in the semi Euro Neuro-style. Unfortunately, coming straight after Sweden, it's absolutely mad and likely to get the same sorts of votes Moldova got last year, and has the stench of Wadde hadde dudde da? all over it (and let's not forget how well THAT did). Contrast this with the HEARTBREAKING BEAUTY of the Dutch entry this year, where I think it'll be IT for the Netherlands if they don't make it. I reckon they will as it's unlike anything else in the semi and the juries love a good acoustic ballad, even if they abandon it in the final. Lithuania are on last with a really well performed track which only I seem to see anything in, and with the blindfold etc I think it'll stick in people's heads. Whether they'll vote for it is another matter, as there aren't many easy votes for them here. At the end of it all, I think we're probably going to see Georgia and the Netherlands go through: 01 Serbia 02 Sweden 03 Estonia 04 Turkey 05 Norway 06 Slovenia 07 Bosnia-Herzegovina 08 Ukraine 09 Georgia 10 Netherlands - 11 Macedonia 12 Lithuania 13 Slovakia 14 Croatia 15 Malta 16 Portugal 17 Belarus 18 Bulgaria
May 24, 201213 yr Did he even have one in the first place? :o According to Rooney, Phil is one of the forum's three premier Eurovision loons! Anyway, I'm missing this semi final :( I think I have a break to take between 8.30-9 and I'll try EVERYTHING to see Loreen. Will have to catch up on the qualifiers when I get home. My predictions to qualify anyway; Serbia: Željko Joksimović - Nije Ljubav Stvar The Netherlands: Joan Franka - You and Me Ukraine: Gaitana - Be My Guest Slovenia: Eva Boto - Verjamem Sweden: Loreen - Eurphoria Turkey: Can Bonomo - Love Me Back Estonia: Ott Lepland - Kuula Norway: Tooji - Stay Bosnia & Herzegovina: Maya Sar - Korake Ti Znam Lithuania: Donny Montell - Love Is Blind Portugal and Macedonia could make it in too though I guess...
May 24, 201213 yr Anyone who wants to see the Swedish jury rehearsal performance... http://tumblr.hole1988.nl/post/23634805664...-jury-rehearsal
May 24, 201213 yr Anyone who wants to see the Swedish jury rehearsal performance... http://tumblr.hole1988.nl/post/23634805664...-jury-rehearsal Sensational, it has winner written all over it, 100 times moreso than any other song in the competition imo. The reaction from the crowd is great, now I'm even more certain that it's walking it based on that rehearsal.
May 24, 201213 yr It's true, I can only see Italy rivalling. It'll just depend how the televoters take to L'amore e femmina as it sounds like jury catnip.
May 24, 201213 yr That long shot in particular at the beginning of the middle eight is SENSATIONAL. The whole aura of the performance is stunning. It's like everyone else was her support act and Loreen is the real deal. The opening siren/lasers, subtly added strings, that sort of slo-mo camera effect right at the end, the snow, her vocals. Life affirming. To see it lose out to a group of grannies with a piss weak non-song would kill me inside. Watch out Set You Free is all I can say :o
May 24, 201213 yr I was quite surprised to see Ukraine choosing a half-black woman as their representative. The world is going to a much better place now! <3 It's such an annoying curse. Hope it won't stop Loreen. As for the jury rehearsal, what a f***ing groundbreaking performance. *.*
May 24, 201213 yr You have had your honorary Euroloon card TORN! Its been a busy couple of months. I only watched one of the MF heats because of work this year and missed AC too :(
