#2 on iTunes UK.

Insane! But it always had the potential to be a major smash here, even if it will only be a one week wonder if radio refuse to get on board as always.

That win's clocked her up at least a 42 week run at #1 on Ghosty's personal chart, maybe more :o

Yes, 'Euphoria' will be Ghosty's Christmas no. 1 at the rate it's going. :D

Quite possibly :kink:

I am so happy! It's the first time in 8 years that my favourite has won the thing, and for her to do it with such a huge margin whilst picking up 12 points from the UK is just too fabulous! What the hell were Italy on though giving it 0?! Good to see it's doing well on the UK iTunes - hope it can maintain momentum for the rest of the week!

I'm not surprised Italy fell short, the performance was so underwhelming. A predictable top 3 in general, but I am surprised Azerbaijan and Albania managed to complete the top 5! I am of course very happy to see Albania up there as I loved Rona's performance. Other surprises for me were Germany finishing top 10, I thought bottom 10 at the best for that one, Spain in 10th - was hoping for top 5, Romania 12th - I expected them to come top 5 with Spain and Denmark, UK and Norway all finishing bottom 5 was a big shock!

Anyway, really looking forward to Sweden 2013, definitely going to try and attend the next contest!

It does annoy me a little that weak Azeri songs, compared to Safura, have done better but it was to be expected with them hosting and a huge diaspora. And Sabina wasn't BAD, she had quite a good performance, so I don't begrudge her a top 10, but a top 5 is a little much. I was willing Rona to overtake so she wouldn't beat Safura towards the end. :(

#2 for Loreen is amazing at this stage, surely it has the momentum to go further?

5 wins for Sweden ties them with the UK for the second most after Ireland...it's deserved really, they punch WAY above their weight on the international music scene, a large proportion of the big dance hits come from there, it's just a shame that the pop is largely ignored, save for most of the really big pop songwriters being Swedish.

And Euphoria is Sweden's first ever non-Schlager/ABBA-a-like winner.

#1 on practically every iTunes store across Europe apart from #2 in the UK, #10 in France and #38 in Italy. The latter seem to have experienced a severe taste bypass.
I am amazed and of course delighted with the performance of it on UK iTunes, I really thought she'd get top 5 at best. But then I didn't expect us to give her 12 points last night
That's exactly how I feel about it. When I first heard 'Euphoria' before Melodifestivalen began, I thought 'Oh, this is average :(', but after seeing the performance I fell in love with it. Without the performance/camera work, I probably wouldn't have rated it so high.

I'm with you both on this also, the staging was great and definitely helped it on the night. I almost downloaded it this morning but thought I'd listen again before I did and reverted to thinking that it really is just a fairly standard 2012 template single.

I think quite a lot of Eurovision tracks are hampered by being limited to 3 minutes, I'd rather hear more build up in this one.

I love how Safura was hotly tipped and a big favourite yet she's been outdone the past two years when they didn't seem to be in contention pre-final this year. They were my 5th favourite last night though, after finding the song dull at first I really really love it now and the colour changing dress was great.

The song is really good in studio form but the performance was so dull, I thought. She looked bored and half-arsed ("It's Azerbaijan, they'll clap even if I vomit on stage"). :(

Results of Eurovision 2012 is HUGE SHAME for the Europe.

Oh BOG OFF you JOYLESS BORE

She's got an album version coming out with a string intro and outro apparently, plus more production flourishes. I'm assuming it'll sound similar to this (which is my favourite performance of Euphoria by a long long way):

Loreen hugging each of the grannies. ha.

So damn cute.

Tune into the Big Top 40, as they'll be announcing Loreen at '#1' in the next 15 minutes and talking to her live from Baku. Poor cow will probably think that she's got the official UK #1  :drama:
So bizarre hearing Euphoria playing everywhere today, without me having to put it on myself! I'm practically begging Capital and/or Radio 1 to playlist it. She's #1 on the 'Big Top 40' anyway.

Well done to Sweden! Strange to see Cascada-lite Eurocheese winning Eurovision.

Plus it's nice to see Claudia Winkleman's talents aren't restricted to Tv presenting.

Cascada wish they could summon the sort of raw emotion behind Euphoria. Just because it has club-friendly instrumentation doesn't mean the song can't have any resonance beyond that.
I didn't realise that Norway came last in the Final for an ELEVENTH time. They're really good at that, aren't they?

We may have to do what the Alexandra loons on DS did whenever they failed to playlist her singles, email the station saying how fit she is for the audience and how she'd compliment the already playlisted tracks and why they simply must playlist her.

With a good song this time as well! At least they have the all time points record I guess, although Loreen wasn't far off!
