It's official. 'We Are Young' has really wormed its way into my affections. A five week run at no. 1 in my chart is no mean feat but this track definitely deserves it, and I'm now hopeful the success here can be mirrored with the UK chart - even if it is just for one week. :D

Whereas where I thought 'Dance Again' had wormed its way into my affections, I've slowly realised over the last fortnight that I still much prefer 'On The Floor'. J-Lo was very close to topping my chart week but I was still faithful to fun. but now even Rihanna's track is making more of an impact on me hence the climb to #2 whilst J-Lo has to settle for 3rd place.

I must add that this chart was written up before the Eurovision Song Contest. I just didn't get round to posting it last night for obvious reasons. :kink: So Loreen's climb back into the top 10 here is purely based on the success from the semi finals. Think it's safe to say 'Euphoria' is gonna climb again next weekend. :D Seeing Loreen #2 on iTunes and getting so close to no. 1 is incredible. I'd love to see Loreen get there but I just know Gary Barlow will be #1 next Sunday with 'Sing'. However, it might be worth checking out the Hitstastic International Top 30 in the coming weeks. *.*

I hadn't even considered entering this until I checked out the release schedule only to realise it wasn't listed. However, as it's made the UK top 40 that's as good enough as classing it as released. However, I agree whilst it's good, 'Last Time' had a bigger impact on me - even if it did get boring fairly quickly.

There seems to be a lot of confusion over this Gary Barlow EP. Because it's got 7 tracks, technically this should count towards the album chart but whether people cherry pick 'Sing' is left to be seen. It probably will get cherry picked, but ideally not enough to trouble the top of the iTunes tracks chart.

 

I think Emeli Sandé could be looking set to have possibly the lowest sales for a #1 album - beating the record in 1995 (can't remember what the group were called). So I think both Paloma and Scissor Sisters will both easily be the top 2 albums next week. Unless the Gary Barlow EP counts towards the album chart (remember Keane's last album was more like an EP than an album as it only contained something like 8 songs). Either way, next weeks album chart will have an all new top 2.

It's a shame as this has appeared on the release schedule to be released last week and then suddenly it disappeared despite me making it Pre-Release. So, I've decided to chart it regardless as I think it's a greeat track. I've heard 'Big Hoops' quite a few times and I have to admit, I'm slightly bewildered by the track. Out of all the singles released from 'Loose', 'Promiscuous Girl' was the only one I really didn't care for. Hopefully 'Big Hoops' will be the 'Promiscuous' of this new era and all remaining Nelly Furtado singles are as solid gold as 'Maneater', 'Say It Right' and 'All Good Things'.

 

10 (18) Loreen - Euphoria (01-01-04-04-03-06-09-13-12-18-10) [10 wks] A rare leap up your chart after a decent! Glad this has reached #1 on iTunes, fully deserving of its success!

 

Actually there have been a handful of singles over the years that have entered, dropped down then climbed back up again, some even reaching a new peak. :P As for Loreen, the big boost here stems from the Eurovision semi finals. Now that 'Euphoria' has won Eurovision and looks set to be a massive hit (even more than it already has been), Loreen is definitely looking likely to climb again next week. :D

Well, I was sort of late onto the bandwagon compared to a few others (Ghosty, GD, Tirren :kink: ) but when I did finally hear 'Euphoria' for the first time (bare in mind this was blocked on YouTube during Melodifestivalen) I was addicted after a couple of listens. This will definitely continue to climb back up my chart again next week.

Interesting that this is the opinion of two posters back to back. I personally thought 'Let The Sunshine' was really drab and I just couldn't get into that song at all. :(

I had a genuine :D moment when I saw fun. officially announced as the UK #1. I have nothing against The Wanted, but 'Chasing The Sun' is dreadful. The chorus is terribly weak and that just ruins the song for me. It just seems like they were desperate for another 'Glad You Came' and, imo, they failed miserably. To be honest, when I first heard fun. I wasn't 100% convinced but it won me over by the time it got properly released to iTunes - I even bought the track that week when it entered at #7 in the charts. The reason it entered at #7 in my chart was due to a strong top 6 but it got there after a fortnight. :D

Interestingly, this and Electric Lady Lab are both ahead of Morgan Page and Dragonette who I awarded my 12 and 10 points respectively. As shown in previous months, sometimes it's a song I give lower points to that ends up being the most successful as some continue to grow, whilst instant faves start to get boring quicker.

Congratulation!!! :D I awarded 'Vena Amoris' my 20 points but as you can see, Tanlines ended up growing on me post-results hence entered higher. I still adore my entry 'Much Too Much' hence why Andain are new in the top 10. However, the recent UP lacked a real gem like 'Nova' by VNV Nation in the previous UP contest.

This is a classic case of me getting bored of a song fairly quickly. I wasn't fully on board at first, then it did grow on me to the point I thought its top 20 entry last week was justified. Now I'm almost back to what I thought initially. It's trying so hard to be euphoric but it just keeps missing the mark.
