Well as some of us rightly predicted, everybody shot their load over Chelsea far too quickly, and they are now having their ANNUAL NOVEMBER BREAKDOWN :basil:

Seems like RDM could be sacked

To be honest I wouldn't have given him the job in the first place. Di Matteo coming in reminded me of Kenny Dalglish coming in at Liverpool after Hodgson with there being less pressure to succeed

But at the same time.. Surely he deserves a chance now that he's been given the job? Don't appoint him if you don't think he's good enough

Having only seen last night's line-up and result, he probably deserved to be sacked on one game's tactics alone. I cannot fathom a formation that would have worked with those players, bizarre team.

Still think if they get Falcao in January they'll be contenders.

Chelsea aren't even that good. Their front three behind the striker is amazing I'll give them that, and their midfield isn't too bad but their defence is terrible. A lot of goals they've conceded this season have been from their left side. Cole has been off form, and Bertrand is inconsistent. Terry is their best central defender by a long shot, and without him they look nervy at the back.

It's ridiculous di Matteo has been sacked. Chelsea are in a hard Champions League group, and Torres is massively off-form. The rumours are they'll appoint Benitez as the interim coach which tbh could be a stroke of genius. Roman just wants Pep Guardiola so much it hurts. Whether he'll even end up going to Chelsea I'll never know.

Hopefully if Rafa is announced as new manager of Chelsea, he can help Torres become the player he once was!

I don't think he'd be able to do that. Torres is pretty much finished. He's still got that goalscoring ability, and he'll never lose it. But he's lost that extra yard of pace he had that used to give defenders nightmares. Rafa would make you incredibly hard to beat though.

I'm interested to see what Rafa would do with the squad. The defence has the potential to be excellent as man-for-man it's as good as virtually any in the league, they just seem very shaky and the goal they conceded at the weekend showed that Bertrand isn't ready. They'd have probably won had Cole been fit.

I think the tactics and line up made sense. Torres is so woeful and hopelessly and out of form they may as well play with 10 men, their only other striker is injured so the only other option they had were they to drop Torres was to play Hazard up there. Playing Azpilicueta made sens, Juve are strong down the wings and it gave extra protection. It wasn't a huge surprise that their second goal came down the left as soon as he'd gone off.

I'm not at all shocked he's gone, the only surprising thing is that people are actually surprised he has gone! It was clear from the amount of time it took to offer him the job in the first place that Abramovic never really wanted him, and it's easy to see why. He isn't that good a manager. Yes he won the Champions League but he fluked it and did it by letting player power win. They had a great start against poor opposition (they played 'big' teams but a dire Arsenal and Spurs missing their best players don't really count) and as soon as they've come up against decent sides they've struggled, Atletico in the Super Cup, 4 points in 4 against their decent CL opponents, defeat to Man Utd, not winning against Liverpool and West Brom sides in decent form. Roman was never going to settle for that after shelling out another £80m odd this summer.

I'm just delighted I got 8/1 on him to be the first PL manager to be sacked as Juve scored their second!

It's no surprise he's been sacked but the timong - they're not out of the Champions League yet and they play Man C at the weekend - is bizarre even by Abramovich's standards. The Chelsea job these days does nothing much for a manager's long- (or even medium-) stability but it does mean a well-paid job for a few months followed by a generous pay-off.

Roman Ambramovic is so ungrateful. He could have waited until the end of the season at least to give Di Matteo more time to try and turn Chelsea's fortunes around.

If Roman thinks Rafa Benitez is going to do a better job than Di Matteo then he needs to lay off the Smirnoff Ice.

Rafa Benitez confirmed as Chelsea interim manager until the end of the season

How insulting. A stop gap until Guardiola is available

Abbott says the pressure is increasing as our run of poor results continues. Not sure whether he'll last much longer. Our home crowds have dwindled since August.

Rafa Benitez is a top class manager. A man who regularly outclassed Jose Mourinho in Europe. People take the piss, but he would have won the Premier League with Liverpool if he actually had money to spend post 2007. He's a brilliant tactician, and people don't give him enough credit. He'll do well with Chelsea. What Rafa did with both Valencia and Liverpool was sensational. People just forget that whilst he was managing Liverpool he was fighting an internal war against two owners, and it took a lot out of him.

He's going to get a lot of stick, but it is win-win for Rafa really.

Who does everyone think will be the top 6 in the Championship and contesting for promotion this season? I actually think the current top 6 will still be there at the end of the season albeit in a different order. I'm going for...

01 - Middlesbrough

02 - Crystal Palace

-----------------------

03 - Blackburn

04 - Cardiff

05 - Hull

06 - Leicester

...in that order, with whoever wins out of Cardiff v Hull winning the play-offs.

It's hard to see both Middlesbrough and Palace retaining that form for the whole of the season, though it would be very pleasing if it did happen. I can't see Hull finishing in the top 6 either, and whilst it would be nice for Cardiff or Leicester to fall out it's hard to see it happening to either. I think Forest will be up there, based on the fact we've been just outside all season and we've not really got going yet plus we've had lots of injuries. I certainly won't be disappointed if we don't finish in the play-offs, but I think we will. Wolves and Bolton are probably capable of putting a decent run together and making the top 6, as are Blackpool still. Brighton might be up there, but don't think the top 6 will come from anyone else.

Now for the winning spirit to travel back with them to Brunton Park please. 3-1 win at Yeovil. :cheer:

Arsenal are shite. That was arguably the strongest XI bar Giroud and Koscielny for Gervinho / Vermaelen. I know Swansea are a good team with a good manager, but realistically, Arsenal should be beating them at home. And Norwich and Villa and Fulham. I've never doubted Wenger in the past, but now it's just so demoralising to watch them play, I think a shakeup might be in order. I'd rather he resigned that go through the ignominy of being sacked though.

Also, Rafa is 25/1 to be the next Prem manager sacked.... worth a punt?
