I just call him tikki! Literally had to Google 'Man City director of football' as I had no idea what he was called!

Ancelloti fared a lot better in Europe though. I've always thought the reason Ancelotti was sacked was more political than anything. He didn't know how to play Torres, whom was Roman's favourite toy. I think it's only just now that Roman's realised that the Torres he thought he bought, was finished a long time ago.

Neither did AVB - Torres was never going to consistently play at the head of a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 while Drogba was there, and nowadays he's not really suited to it unless he has two or three playmakers behind him anyway. Ancelotti's diamond probably gave him a better chance, running down the channels and having someone to link up with.

AVB tried to though, but he was also sacked because he lost the dressing room and the players forced him out. The same again with di Matteo. That's why I'm sure they hired Benitez, to see if he could get the best out of Torres. Even Benitez knows Torres is completely finished as a the striker he used to be. He just doesn't have the pace these days.

Im glad that Wigan have been relegated. It's been coming for years and they really should have gone down ages ago especially in the 2010/2011 season when they were in the bottom 3 for almost the whole season. Maybe in future they will treat autumm and winter time like how they treat spring to avoid this happening again.
Gutted for Wigan, I'm sure they'll immediately return back to the premiership depending on if they can keep the majority of their team, I'm sure the prospect of playing in Europe will help encourage players to stay.

Mancini has done well during his time at Man City, but they'll be looking to improve in the Champions League next season and his previous record in Europe isn't great

They'll also want to take advantage of Man United potentially being weaker with Sir Alex retiring

Also from what I've heard, Man City have been building up quite an impressive academy. It wouldn't make sense to have a manager in charge with no interest in bringing younger players through

I'm a Wigan fan (although I in a quandarry as as much as I like the team - I can't stand Dave Whelan) but over the course of the season - it was right that they were relegated. Apart from the first season when they were promoted to the Premiership - they've been skating on very thin ice.

I truly doubt they'll get back into the Premiership again - but then again - no-one ever thought they'd ever reach such dizzy heights to begin with. I say this as someone who went to their first home game on promotion to Divison 4 - when they were playing at tiny Springfield Road.

They did bloody well in the FA Cup though!

Unfortunately I agree, I don't think Wigan will be back any time soon.
So if Chelsea draw 0-0 and Arsenal win 2-1 (or 1-1 and 3-2 etc.) there'll be a play off for third. Actually possible.

I can't imagine Wigan being back anyone soon either. I imagine they'll lose their manager and their best three players. To be fair they're the original crawley town. Their luck has finally run out, but they had their fun. Like Barnet in league 2, they were finally relegated after flirting with relegation for the past few seasons.

Another money making scheme. Head to head would make more sense, which Chelsea would win

I think the provision for a play-off dates back long before the days of Sky so that's a bit cynical.

David Beckham has announced that he will retire at the end of the season. I would put money on Ryan Giggs retiring at the end of the 2013/2014 season and if/when that happens i will be gutted because he's been such a great player for Manchester United.

I don't see the fuss over Beckham retiring, he pretty much retired 3/4 years ago! But yes, almost an end to that golden boy era of the 90s... only Giggs left now I think, and even then he's a bit part player these days.

Strictly Come Dancing watch out, you have a new star.

Brentford vs Yeovil final today as well as the final Premier League games today.

I pocket £20 from my Sunderland and Stoke supporting mates, Bale scores me a load of Fantasy points and now looks like sodding off. What an excellent day.

Less so for the commentator who apparently said "Lukaku is literally raping United in this second half!".
