January 24, 201114 yr The live acoustic Someone Like You from the Japan release of the album is waaaaaaaaay superior to the album version we have here. It's exactly the same as the Jools Holland version. The vocal is just sublime, and the melody just sits so much nicer. Beautiful. I think I'm slightly addicted to it.
January 28, 201114 yr Someone Like You is awful in it's album version. The melody of the second half of the chorus is just lost completely. The Jools Holland live version is far superior. I kept wanting to sing the melody of that version but the high vocals on the recorded version are so off-putting. Very disappointing. Basically this.
January 31, 201114 yr Decent interview with Adele in which she gives more details about the break up and especially the part it played in her writing Someone Like You, surely one of the best break up songs of the last decade. http://www.blackbookmag.com/article/adele-...-album/24664/P1 PS Just back from my local Asda and there's a large empty space where the Adele CDs were the other day when I went in. This is going to be huuugggeee... “Someone Like You” in the polar opposite to that. I got so exhausted from writing all these bitch songs, and when I was listening back to them, I started feeling really guilty and regretful because my ex-boyfriend, who the record is about, is not a prick at all. We just fell out of love with each other. No one did anything really bad, but I was portraying him as this complete c**t. I was really gutted that we didn’t manage to recover from our kind of boredom of each other. We couldn’t remember why we loved each other. It really upset me, and I’d never really experienced that before. Even on 19, it was a young love thing. It wasn’t a big deal, whereas with this one I thought I was going to die, because when a relationship gets to the point of no return and you can’t mend it, it’s really devastating. I overcame my bitterness and was thinking about how he’d changed me. I was at peace with it and really wanted to call him, just to check that he was happy. Then I found out that he was engaged, and “Someone Like You” came out of that. It’s heartbreaking, that song. Even though I wrote it, I can’t help but cry every time I hear it. I played it to my Nan, and it reminded her of my granddad, who died. It’s a song about loss. It’s my favorite song that I’ve ever written, because it’s so articulate. It completely sums up how I felt then. It’s a hopeful song as well as a sad song. Edited January 31, 201114 yr by bellboys
February 15, 201114 yr She did a stunning out of this world performance of Someone like you on The brits tonight. I think James corden made such a nice comment. Something like big effects and loads of dancing isn't all that. Sometimes you need just a piano. He is so right. Give a performance with a just a piano or a guitair and that is the most raw and real performance you will get from an artist. Edited February 15, 201114 yr by David John
February 15, 201114 yr I think Corden was visibly moved by the performance. The big blancmange was misty eyed afterwards. Read on Haven that's SLY is up to 7 on iTunes! It was an absolutely stunning performance (and Adele also got very emotional after). Edited February 15, 201114 yr by bellboys
February 16, 201114 yr It was really emotional, i think everyone was moved by it, its such an easily relatable song for everyone and her performance of it just epic. #1 album for 4 weeks! :dancing: Edited February 16, 201114 yr by Karma
February 16, 201114 yr I just watched the performance and it's truly sensational, she's pretty much won me over with it.

February 16, 201114 yr Although not officially confirmed, it pretty much is. Her label are bound to officially confirm soon.
February 16, 201114 yr Before the brits, small, really funny interview. Lukuzz, i'm sure it will be now. :D
February 17, 201114 yr She's an absolute interviewer's dream that girl. Fantastic. I hope she never changes. 'Anyone who hasn't got love for each other - f*ck off! Edited February 17, 201114 yr by bellboys
February 20, 201114 yr I love Someone Like You but on the studio version I do think the bit in the chorus which goes "Don't forget me I beg, I remember you said" kind of ruins the song because it's just too high. Octave lower as sung live please!
February 24, 201114 yr Someone like you is such a beautiful song, I watched the video of Adele's performance of it at the Brit Awards last night. There isn't a proper way I can describe what a talented and beautiful singer Adele is, simply phenomenal.
February 24, 201114 yr I only just saw the Jools Holland performance of 'Someone Like You' today and as great as it was, I preferred the BRITs performance by far! Still, all three performances of it that I've seen/heard have been flawless live vocals and she's just a great artist all round.
February 24, 201114 yr Interestingly Adele performed Someone Like You on ellen today. This has obviously been chosen by the record company to launch the next chapter of her success all over the World. If it's possible, it coul take it to a whole new level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJFWszYl7RI
