01 (10) Loreen - Euphoria (01-01-04-04-03-06-09-13-12-18-10-01) [12 wks] Fabulous! I was so happy it went top 3 on the UK chart! :D

04 (--) Ivi Adamou - La La Love (04) [1 wk] The only other Eurovision entry in the UK top 100! I can see why though, it could easily pass for a J. Lo track

05 (--) Mandinga - Zaleilah (05) [1 wk] Poor staging, but what a tune! I've ordered the album, hoping the other tracks are just as good as this!

06 (--) Kylie Minogue - Timebomb (06) [1 wk] Why oh why is this flopping so terribly in the UK, this simply cannot be allowed to happen! :(

14 (--) Maya Sar - Korake Ti Znam (14) [1 wk] Your love of this track will forever mystify me :heehee: . It's a nice track, but without the video, which is basically Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles but on a train, it doesn't really do much for me

18 (--) Greta Salóme & Jónsi - Never Forget (18) [1 wk] Another stunning entry from Iceland, but I'm not that surprised it under-performed

19 (--) Nina Zilli - L'Amore e Femmina (Out Of Love) (19) [1 wk] It's grown on me, but I never understood why it was being seen as a favourite. The performance was very lifeless.

26 (--) Sabrina Babayeva - When The Music Dies (26) [1 wk] Surprised at how well this did too, I think it's safe to say Azerbaijan probably will never miss the top 10 whenever they enter

31 (--) Tooji - Stay (31) [1 wk] A VERY undeserved last place :(

34 (--) Željko Joksimovic - Nije Ljubav Stvar (34) [1 wk] The music of this is stunning, but I think I'd have preferred it more if it was sung by a female

40 (--) Soluna Samay - Should've Known Better (40) [1 wk] So surprised at just how badly this fared in the contest! I was expecting top 10 at least! Obviously Europe is tiring of the fem-acoustic sound :(

'Euphoria' has done exceptionally well. I'd even say it's been more successful than 'Fairytale' was in 2009. You know a winner is worthy when it translates into high chart positions/great sales and airplay after the contest. Loreen has achieved just that. I do hope when Loreen releases her next single (I believe it's going to be 'Sober'?), UK media get behind the song.

The style of 'La La Love' is pretty much like most club bangers around at the moment. To think this only ever got as high as 4th in my overall faves but is now second although nobody was going to come anywhere near close to Loreen.

I really don't know. Further proof that OA/OS doesn't work initially but if Kylie continues to promote 'Timebomb' it could rebound and start climbing up again.

I like to mystify you, Martin!!! :w00t: :lol: Aww, I like the song musically. It's got such a lovely melody and being sung in a different language just makes it sound all the more romantic.

 

18 (--) Greta Salóme & Jónsi - Never Forget (18) [1 wk] Another stunning entry from Iceland, but I'm not that surprised it under-performed

 

Iceland sure know how to provide the goods. 'Is It True?', 'Je Ne Sais Quio' and now 'Never Forget'. If they keep this up, Iceland could eventually play hosts to Eurovision.

 

19 (--) Nina Zilli - L'Amore e Femmina (Out Of Love) (19) [1 wk] It's grown on me, but I never understood why it was being seen as a favourite. The performance was very lifeless.

 

I can only guess Italy coming 2nd in 2011 made people think this would trounce (most of) the competition because it's simply a far superior song. Italy not giving any points to 'Euphoria' was laughable though. How very Albanian of the Italians!!! :D

It's a shame that Azeibaijan won Eurovision with 'Running Scared' as, whilst I liked it, I think they've provided better entries in other years including 2012. However, because of their politics and just the general attitudes of the country I hope Azeibaijan don't win Eurovision for a long time. Sadly, I think they've got more chance of winning than the UK will ever do.

 

31 (--) Tooji - Stay (31) [1 wk] A VERY undeserved last place :(

 

...but you have to admit, it was a poor vocal performance. That's what let Tooji down - his high note ad libs towards the end of the performance were dreadful. I think what Eurovision has proved it that excellent vocals is key to success. If you have a great song but sing it badly it will destroy your chances of doing well.

 

34 (--) Željko Joksimovic - Nije Ljubav Stvar (34) [1 wk] The music of this is stunning, but I think I'd have preferred it more if it was sung by a female

 

I really grew to like this song. Especially from the early semi final stages where it made no impression on me whatsoever. Funny how some songs can just suddenly click - watching the entire performace usually helps too!!! :heehee:

I also thought Denmark would've done better. I even thought the vocals were decent too so maybe the song just didn't appeal to many televoters. Or they also had their own gripe about the similar lyrics to 'Missing' by Everything But The Girl. :lol: I must admit, that's the first thing that caught my attention when I heard this.
