Florrie's sole base of hype is Popjustice. I Love It has had oodles of blog and internet hype.

Haha! :lol: True! We'll see what happens in the odds anyway, and I'm sure over the next couple of weeks someone else will get hype around it just like iamamiwhoami and Tone Damli got in their respective contests!

If 'I Took A Little Something' couldn't come top 5, there's no way this one will, this EP is such a let-down in comparison to her previous ones, at least for me.

 

I wouldn't give 'I Love It' less points for being uninspired, but I've known it for a lot longer than the other songs and it may have peaked for me already...

I don't see how I Love It is overly cheap. It's hardly the most inspired thing ever and I would never have sent it, but Icona Pop have come bottom of the final twice before, and there are a lot of songs which are going to tick more indie boxes or more pop boxes.

 

The only hype I've seen for it has been one thread in the pop forum and speaking for myself, I've known it for a couple of weeks, I'm already incredibly bored of it and I've listened to it less than 5 times.

The difference being that Icona Pop's two previous entries were both far less accessible than I Love It was and had barely any hype behind them...

In the end, the entries which seem to have a lot of hype around them at the beginning (Carly Rae Jepsen, Rebecca Stella) never seem to win. So while I would love 'I Love It' to win, I don't think it's going to happen! But of course as Tirren says, my inferiority complex might be saying that! :lol:

All of this is quite true, but I just love To The End so much I couldn't not enter it. As long as it makes the final I'm considering it a $ucce$$.

(For the record, before anyone gets on their high horse and we slip back into the predictable old debate over cheapness of 'oh he was just sending what he loved stop attacking him' etc, I don't blame Ryan for this. I just consider it quite ODD that with the ridiculously light pretexts some entries have been vetoed on recently that I Love It ever passed.)

For every Carly Rae Jepsen (Rebecca Stella was hardly seen as an obvious winner!) from the Buzzjack annals there are three of the likes of Hollywood, Sober, and Release Me. Songs which are seen as obvious winners generally win.

There aren't nearly as many I already know this month, I figured there would be after what Ghosty said! Still, some blasts from the (recent) past with 'knewyouwell' and 'Trasig'!

 

Luckily quite a few of the ones I knew were changed by whoever was sending them! Even so, I do already know 18 of them :lol:

 

How on EARTH was I Love It not vetoed considering some of the stuff which has been?! :manson:

 

I nearly sent it last time, so that was the basis I went on for not voting to ban it. I don't think it's THAT much of an obvious winner imo.

A lot of hype can usually mean that a lot of people don't get it though, and so a lot seem to have the mindset 'oh it will landslide it anyway, it doesn't need my votes even though I love it' and actually it doesn't perform as well, I'm sure a lot of people would rather vote for new discoveries rather than an obvious winner

 

(ftr I Love It was the song I was referring to earlier, and I was surprised it wasn't vetoed)

I've arrived at my own song in my semi now and I must say the quality so far is REALLY good. Probably my favorite contest so far (although I need to watch it considering I've only listened to 10 songs)

I haven't seen any hype for I Love It. Then again I tend to be the one who notices the Scandihype and rely on my fellow mods for the more indie tinged stuff.

And big lol at some entries...no offense but Morena is something that i never wanted to see in this contest...you will know what i mean only if you are from Ballkan region :lol: It was such a monster hit 2 years ago that I can't listen to it anymore :no:...good luck though.

We did discuss banning I Love It, but I didn't want to on the basis that it's shit :kink: Seriously though, I think times HAVE changed since Hollywood, cheap/hyped doesn't guarantee winner anymore.

 

Grimes was also up for discussion but I don't think we thought it was THAT cheap.

'I Love It' is hardly an 'obvious' winner. And so what if it does win? Nobody really cared about 'Sober' and that was probably the most obvious winner of all time. :lol:

Given you've barely had much time for anything these days (and I don't mean that in an attacking way by the way - I've been bloody busy as well lately), I don't exactly think you've got your finger on the Scandipulse entirely Phil! :lol: I mean it says a lot when you let stuff like Melodifestivalen, Eurovision semis and a BJSC contest slip behind in your priorities!
