That makes me sad Laura :-) Pinkpop is one of the oldest musical festivals in the world. The names has nothing to do with the colour ponk, but the Christian 'Pinksteren". Originally it was one day and now it is three days. When I came from work today via train they already warned about the traffic as many people are going there from all kind of Holland. Muse will perform, the Scropt, Avicii, Pharell and the Foo Fighters.

They have a main stage and several small ones. Robbie will perform a 75 minute set tomorrow at 22.15. You can listen to it in Dutch radio and I think it is shown on some kind of cultural channel live :-)

The tickets for his part sold the fastest.

For some reason I can't get retain any of the info about the festivals Elisabeth

I just know there's lots of them :D

Maybe someone will be there and put it up on Periscope.

I wish him lots of luck - are you going tomorrow?

I think it is 3FM and LFM. They say that the set of Robbie and Anouk (the best Dutch rock singer) is shown on TV. If se, I am sure it will appear soon on YT. If I know more I keep you informed.

Marika is there I heard and a lots of people I know from FB. I guess a lot of Germans will be there and well, Robbie is very in still in Holland.

No Laura, I am not going.

Pinkpop is not depending on age, but some how I am too lazy. I have seen him in Linz. I hope that he gets a good start today, as this will give him the self-assurance he might need in countries like Denmark these days

Elisabeth - can we watch this live from UK?

I typed npo culture and it is a live stream but a message comes up in Dutch. Maybe we can't view it here?

http://3voor12.vpro.nl/ try this one laura

No I don't think that works for us here Elisabeth

I can't speak Dutch but I can understand a warning about "geographical location " <_<

I'm hoping someone might put it on periscope.

Thank you anyway

Robbie Williams no longer knows what it is to sing

She has given him a purpose in life: Ayda Field, 36, the wife of pop star Robbie Williams, 41

The British pop star Robbie Williams ("Let Me Entertain You", "Angels") believes that his marriage and father-fortune has harmed his songwriting. "I must admit that my songs actually are not as good, since I'm so happy. I find it just hard to find something about which I could sing," he told the "Welt am Sonntag".

He do hard to write about positive things. "Pain is an easier place for me to write a song, even though it is just too painful. It's more familiar to me," said Williams. He said it is "truly noticed myself that the quality of my lyrics and music has dropped since I've become more cheerful".

His previous alcohol and drug excesses of the 41-year-old father of two goes at a distance. ". I have naturally provoked Sometimes I was really bad," Williams said, "I was like an annoying child I wanted recognition and that people once said... He can even what I did not feel anything, I was not satisfied Instead done something else with me, and that was very scary, menacing, heavy and gloomy. "

Advertising for VW - without a license

Out of the crisis he has pulled himself - with the help of his family: "At some point I said, closing I quit I realized: f***, that is now really too much for me, so is my head no longer clear that was... 2006. I had to get rid of me, so I was desperately looking for a f***ing sense Now I have found him.. in my family "

The singer is currently on a world tour, but only occurs in other European countries and not in Germany. In Berlin he joined recently only as an advertising icon for VW in appearance - although he himself did not drive a car. "I can not drive, and I have no driver's license. How well? At 16 I was in a boyband, have gerackert like an animal and was just on the move. With 19 when we broke up our group, I lived in London, where Taxis are everywhere, "said Williams.

"Yes, and then I got really famous and really rich So I had a chauffeur but I also feel like I should not be responsible for heavy machinery Past experience has clearly shown that it is evil to my ability to concentrate.... "

All songwriters say it's easier to write songs when your angry & emotional so I get that :)
interestingly the sad songs are most successful, look at Adele

And Sam Smith :)

Sad is interesting, nobody it seems want to dwell on happiness

with the exception of Pharrell Williams with his Happy song :P

I guess when you're sad people look for solace in decent lyrics to mirror their feelings don't they - and that's where he's so good.

When you're happy - you just want to do this.... :yahoo: to dance music

I've heard his say that before anyway - he cited Rod Stewart a couple of years ago as saying the same thing and he said that's why RS took a few years off because he didn't feel he had anything to write about.

I got my Bonhams catalogue today :)

There's a lot of music awards right from the early TT days up to RKTVS.

There are also a lot of stage clothes, jackets from the TTC tour, his suit from the Berlin Velodrome gig, his pink suit from the Palladium gig, his lovely white suit from the Radio video, some TT clothes and his kaftan from the Sin, Sin, Sin video.

There's also some hand written lyrics too.

My favourite item would be the lyrics from Go Gentle.

I wish him lots of luck on 15th July. :)

Amazing he still has all that stuff, I wonder if it was kept in storage somewhere . He is good at keeping stuff though, even his own clothes , seems to keep them for years & years :P

Is anything affordable by the ordinary punter Laura

The music awards are estimated from £500-£1,000 Tess.

The stage clothes - a couple of thousand each. I think the most expensive individual item is the lyrics from LMEY - £6,000.

Goodness knows who or where he kept all the awards - there's loads of them right through from 1993 with TT to 2009/10.

I wondered if the museum in Stoke -on-Trent which housed the exhibition for his 40th might buy the stage clothes and make the exhibition permanent.

If I had money - I'd love to own the lyrics. I'm not interested in memorabilia - but those would be special to own I think. :)

I would like the lyrics as well Laura  , the exhibition thing is a good idea actually, I mean what would you do with one of those suits , I cannot see anyone actually wearing one even of it did have the Farrell label attached :P

Talking of Farrell clothing, it got a great review here about two month ago on the tv show Xpose , they have some lovely t-shirts out at the moment , really good value for money http://www.farrell.com/clothing/tees-and-polos.html
