So we watched with the catalogue in front of us - the awards he's won over his career are even more impressive when they're laid out in front of you in black and white with all the statistics. Some lots went for more than expected, some went for less.

 

Robbie did lot 79 - the lyrics to Kids. He was very funny. He spotted someone in the room who he recognised. :lol: The bidding went up to £5,500 I think. There's quite a lot of multi tasking involved which he gave up on I think. :lol: But his presence filled the room. :)

 

When he'd done his bit he slipped out but he still had his mic on and all you could hear was him thanking everybody. He even said thank you to the auctioneer for helping him out. He's such a sweetheart. :wub:

 

The icing on the cake was the final lot for the Go Gentle lyrics that went for £25,000. There were two telephone bidders battling it out. I was so happy because that song is so special. It was just a shame he wasn't there to see the very end of it. It was a brilliant two hours viewing, amusing, interesting and uplifting. I smiled all the way through. :)

Glad you got to see it Laura, must have been real interesting. Robbie does have great manners & is always appreciative . 25K is brilliant for GG, & 5.5K for Kids, wow !! that's superb ..

Yes - that was the second highest lot to go I think

 

Most of his clothes sold really well - even the more up to date costumes from the swing shows and TTC tour sold for a couple of grand each. No idea what you'd do with those costumes though once you'd bought them? The pink suit from the London Palladium - where would you put it? :o

I think he's actually been really good keeping in shape this tour - it must be hard for him - I should imagine the moment he stops being really strict on his diet, he just puts it back on. It must be a constant battle for him. He's a big man - he's never going to be sylph like.
