He's a Man For All Seasons! Robbie Williams beams as he leaves restaurant with wife Ayda Field in tweed flat cap and studded shoes

He has made some unusual fashion choices in his past music videos, so it comes as no surprise that Robbie Williams didn't just opt for a simple shirt and shoes when he dined out on Sunday.

The singer was spotted leaving Mr Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills in a tweed cap and eye-catching footwear, alongside Ayda Field.

Placing a protective arm around his wife, the 39-year-old beamed as he headed to his car in his mostly, smart look.

Calvin Harris has joined Robbie Williams' soccer team.

The Scottish DJ - who currently resides in Beverly Hills - has signed up to the 'Candy' hitmaker's Los Angeles' squad, which sees him and a number of other stars meet up on a weekly basis for a friendly kick-about and a gossip.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''After daughter Teddy, his missus Ayda and music - football is one of the biggest loves of Robbie's life.

''He is not a big party guy, so hosting friendly matches with some of his pals is the main socialising that he does.

''Calvin is the latest guy to be signed up.

''He'll fit right in because he's quite a guy's guy and very down to earth.

''This is all just about having a kick-about with friends, nothing showbiz.''

Robbie, 39, used to have his own official squad LA Vale - named after his favourite British team Port Vale - and a kit until 2007, when he realised he had been allegedly conned out of $400,000 by two teammates, who asked him to fund their fashion label but blew the money on partying instead.

However, Robbie - who has 17-month-old daughter Teddy with his partner Ayda Field - still regularly arranges fixtures so that he can continue with passion for the sport.

Britain’s Got Talent’s Stephen Mulhern has revealed that he wants to see Robbie Williams on the panel.

The Britain’s Got More Talent host said that the singer would be his dream panellist.

Mulhern told Digital Spy: “I think Robbie Williams would be incredible, because he's a great showman.

“He gives something that the others haven't got.

"You'd have the comedy of David Walliams, the stagemanship of Amanda Holden, the pop career of Alesha Dixon(?), obviously the cheese of Simon Cowell, and then a performer that's a world star. That would be brilliant. Five is not [a] bad [idea]."

Robbie Williams on losing the fat, being 40 and accepting he's not cool

Here's Robbie: Williams poses during a photo shoot to promote his new album Swing Both Ways

With millions of adoring fans around the world and a career spanning nearly three decades, Robbie Williams surely has no fears when it comes to pulling a crowd.

But the singer has told how even at 40 he is still haunted by insecurities ahead of gigs and public appearances. And it always gives him a thrill when fans do show up. The veteran rocker also admitted he accepts he has reached an age where he is no longer considered “cool”.

Speaking after he gave a TV interview in Sydney where he was greeted by a huge crowd of fans, Robbie added: “I come down here and open my curtains in the bedroom and it’s a bit rainy and I think to myself, ‘Have you gone off me, does anybody know me here, is the security pointless, is this just to buffer my ego now?’

“Then I turn up at the TV show this morning and all that energy really shocked and surprised me. The validation makes me taller. Yesterday I was fat and old and today I am eight pounds thinner and loved. It’s a weird and wonderful world up in there in my head.”

The Former Take That star is promoting his Swings Both Ways album. Speaking of turning 40 on February 13, he said: “I’m far more at ease with not being cool now.

“I used to think it was important to be Radiohead. Swing is a different kind of cool. I am ready to be a family entertainer, I am not offended by that notion any more.

“Now I am 40, I don’t want to be cool anymore, I want to be successful, I want to keep this going as much as I can, health permitting. I have a few mortgages.”

Robbie might be married to American Ayda Field, mother of their 18-month-old daughter Teddie Rose, but he confessed he loves girls from Down Under because they are good in bed.

He added: “I was sure I was going to end up with an Aussie. They’re cool chicks. Sex is like sport down here, it’s great.

“I’ve had sex with lots of people from lots of countries. Germany and Australia are like the Olympics when it comes to ‘let’s get it on’.” Robbie was last in Australia in 2006 when he was battling drink and drugs. He said: “I went to rehab straight afterwards and I retired in my mind. I came back because I got ambitious and centred again and got to be a daddy and a husband and all that good stuff.” He starts a tour of Australia in September.

In an exclusive interview with Take 40 Australia, pop star and boy band alumni Robbie Williams has revealed that he would swing both ways for Australia’s own golden boy Hugh Jackman.

When discussing his upcoming album, Swings Both Ways, and collaborations Williams revealed, “I had a list of people I wanted to work with, because the people I work with on the album I love and adore, and the only person I didn’t get - not because they said no because they didn’t want to, it was because they were too busy - was Hugh Jackman.”

When questioned about having a thing for Aussie collaborators (he has worked with both Kylie and Nicole Kidman in the past), Williams laughed, “I’ve been through all the women! It’s time to start on the men!”

“I love Hugh Jackman. I have such a man crush on that guy. He’s such a huge talent. I bet you he’s a quadruple threat. There’s a fourth threat that we don’t know about and I bet you he does!” Williams concluded.

Perhaps there is going to be a new bromance on the horizon?

Robbie Williams doing a good job of avoiding middle-age spread - by STARVING himself

Mar 04, 2014 20:49

In an interview with Aussie radio station Mix 94.5, the star revealed his my life used to be about sex, drugs and rock and now and it’s now about cake

Robbie Williams has hit upon a great way to avoid a middle-age spread… starving himself.

Now that CAN’T be healthy, Rob.

The singer, 40, admits: “My secret is not eating. Christmas was just a vast array of chocolate and cake and sugar and carbohydrates.

"I knew I was doing promo in Australia and I did a rather unhealthy thing of not eating .

“My regime so far year is to have a big breakfast and then two protein shakes for the rest of the day.”

In an interview with Aussie radio station Mix 94.5, the star reveals: “My life used to be about sex, drugs and rock and now and it’s now about cake.

"When I’m not on tour I’m at home eating crisps and cake and watch reality TV and if I do it for too long without doing an album I end up wearing an elasticated waist band or a kaftan as I go really fat and I grow a beard and look like a killer so I have to release an album to stop me being morbidly obese.”

We love you any size, Robster ..
