Posted June 12, 201213 yr So 12 weeks have pasted since MDNA has been released what did you make of the album then ? and what about now, how are you finding it ?, rate or review the album how ever you like.
June 12, 201213 yr Author Girl Gone Wild: I wasn't too impressed at first since this has really grown on me a great start to MDNA it has some brilliant remixes. Gang Bang: F***ing awesome, a welcome back to the old Madonna. Some of her best lyrics in years, I love the ending but it reminds me of Nicky Finn lol.. It's still a great song but can be a little boring after repeated plays. This song needs a video. I'm Addicted: A great album track, love the repeated MDNA vocals. Turn Up The Radio: This song could of been a massive song for Madonna the Hung Up of the MDNA era but the song bores me and goes no where. The song is slightly improves on the tour but not by much. Give Me All Your Luvin': I hated the demo, but it's a grower and I do love it. Like Girl Gone Wild I think most people won't admit that they like it. Some Girls: A great song I love it. Superstar: The true blue or angel of MDNA.. We needed one of those. I Don't Give A: A highlight!, can't wait to see the live tour version the videos are amazing!. I'm A Sinner: Too Beautiful Stranger for me.. It may grow on me after I see the tour Love Spent: A lot of fans love it, I think it's an ok album track at best. Masterpiece: A return of the 1998 Madonna Falling Free: I really love this it's a great ending. Beautiful Killer / I f***ed Up: Should of been on the standard version easily, I still think that. Best Friend / B'day Song: They are bonus tracks for a reason lol. Overall: With the lack of promotion MDNA went off my radar within about 2 or 3 weeks - a first for a madonna album for me. But I have recently been replaying it now due to the tour, I always played Gang Bang and Some Girls even when I didn't play the whole album. As for people saying that the album is a failure or flop who gives a ..., MDNA break a lot of records anyway. As for promotion and stuff that was Madonna's and her teams plans does she need to sell a certain amount of each album ? No, she's made her money years ago. The money is with touring these days not albums.
June 12, 201213 yr For me the album is extremely strong it's just been mis managed from start to finish ! Gmayl like it or hate it is a highlight of the tour the video was a waste of a lot of money it needed a video like the performance on the tour! If managed well this could have been a hit album ! Single releases at different times for uk anyways, giving away Gmayl for free, GGW is not single worthy even tho I really like it and the video is the best M vid in years! The reaction to the demo of Gmayl was not positive but they still went with it / should have released maybe a double a side but it's easy to say all this in hindsight ! I would have like masterpiece released during the films era / golden globe win this will remind people of madonna's class and show the critics she is not all about staying young and trying to be hip! Best friend is also amazing btw and doesn't deserve the hate it's do relatable and honest! Tutr, gang bang, I'm addicted, love spent, masterpiece are the real gems from the album I don't give a .... Is the track that has grown on me the most !
June 13, 201213 yr I'll have a listen to the album tonight, and post my thoughts and I'll do a rate :D
June 14, 201213 yr Girl Gone Wild Great way to start the album! I love the prayer at the beginning and the verses are fantastic, but the only thing is that the chorus is a tad weak – the “hey-ey-ey-ey, like a girl gone wild” bit. The song is still great but an even more killer chorus would make it better. I reckon it would be a decent hit if it had actually been promoted and TV/radio played it! Gang Bang It’s a spoken song, so normally that would make me hate it…but not in this case! I love it! I love how aggressive she gets at the end! And the beat! :o Fantastic, especially when in the gym! It desperately needs a video!!! Even if it isn't released as a single, although it would be very interesting to see how well it did if it was released. I’m not sure whether radio would play it, as like I said, it’s a spoken song so not really the sort of thing they would play. And it’s not exactly the most radio-friendly song in the world…! :P I think TV would play the video though, it would get an amazing reaction! I’m Addicted It seems that not many people like it, but I really enjoy it! I absolutely love the bit from 3:15 to the end, like that little bit after she sings “I need to…” and the repeated “MDNA” I really like the beginning of the song too. Turn Up the Radio This is sort of on par with I’m Addicted on how much I like it, although I’m Addicted just beats it. It seems perfect for the radio – it’s not controversial at all. I’m not sure what she could do for a video, perhaps a live performance? I think that could suit it quite well. Give Me All Your Luvin’ “L-U-V Madonna! Y-O-U You wanna?” Whether you hate the song or not, that chant gets stuck in your head! I can see why people don’t like it, but I just can’t help but love it! It just seems so bad that it’s good! I really like Nicki Minaj and M.I.A’s part too! If only it had a better video, as that just seemed like a piss take. :P Some Girls I liked it at first, but it’s insanely addictive now! :w00t: I love the chorus so much, even though I can’t understand what she says sometimes! :P I always get ready to turn up the volume as soon as I hear the first bit! Superstar The beginning reminds me of a football/sports song, like Waving Flag or Anywhere in the World. Perhaps she should release it as a single after Turn Up the Music for the Olympics? I would think this is radio-friendly like Turn Up the Music, so maybe it could be a good idea to release it. I love the “ooh la la, you’re a superstar” chorus and the bit at 2:30 when she’s mentioning the celebrities – reminds me of Vogue and a slow version of the part in between Nicki Minaj and M.I.A’s part in Give Me All Your Luvin’. I Don’t Give A… This has definitely grown on me! The verses are great and I love Nicki Minaj’s part, although I think that the song should have ended after Nicki says “There’s only one queen…and that’s Madonna…bitch!” as the “ha-ho-ha-ho-ha“ bit is just annoying. I’m a Sinner I think the song should have started at the “wooh-ooh-wooh-ooh”. I love those bits, and the song is great after that, and this is another song which has grown on me. Love Spent I don’t find anything significantly exciting or interesting in this song to be honest! :( It’s just an alright track, but it’s one which I will skip on the album. Masterpiece My favourite song on the album!   I love everything about it – the lyrics are perfect, the music, it’s a pure Madonna track! Reminds me of the Evita era/late 90’s like Sweet Candy mentioned. This SO needs to be a single, the fact that it has reached the Radio Airplay chart and reached the Top 75 on downloads only kind of proves that it should be! There should be a lot more tracks like this on the album, as I think it may have encouraged more people to buy MDNA, as it seems to be a fan favourite just because it suits Madonna perfectly! Falling Free Some of the notes played at the very beginning reminds me of the beginning of Forbidden Love on Confessions on a Dancefloor. I think that this track is as close to Masterpiece as the songs on the album get, which is why I quite like it. It’s not as addictive as Masterpiece, but her vocals are just as good. There are occasionally some notes which remind me of the Ray of Light era. For those who own the standard version, I think it is a good way to end the album. Beautiful Killer I think the beginning and the music sounds great! It’s nice to have an upbeat song after a few slower ones, and it’s a great way to start the deluxe tracks. I didn’t really pay much attention to deluxe tracks, but I reckon this is going to grow on me. Love the gunshot at the end! :P I f***ed Up Not the best on the album, but I like that it speeds up just after halfway and then slows down again, I think that bit sound really cool! B-day Song The beginning reminds me of Noisettes’ Never Forget You, and I think it’s safe to say that this is another guilty pleasure. It should be absolutely rubbish but I just think it’s a great track! Best Friend This is another song which I think it going to grow on me after not really paying much attention to it before. Like Vibe said, it is honest and relatable. The party rock remix of GMAYL is quite catchy, although it does seem to be quite messy and LMFAO are starting to bug me now. 01. Masterpiece 02. June 15, 201213 yr MDNA remains my favourite album of the year, it will remain so until the end of August when Alanis Morissette comes back and slays the charts with her new one. Girl Gone Wild: I loved this from the first listen and it remains my favourite song from the album, I adore the spoken intro. 10/10 Gang Bang: Close second fave, everything about this is flawless, the beat of this song is soo good and the "if you're gonna act like a bitch then you're gonna die like a bitch" is superb. Classic Madonna. 10/10 I'm Addicted: Wasn't too keen on this, but its grown on me, the repetition is really catchy. 8/10 Turn Up The Radio: THIS should have been the first single, perfect for radio and so addictive. 10/10 Give Me All Your Luvin': I overplayed this when it came out, gone off it now, Nicki's rap is the best bit. 7/10 Some Girls: Another grower, the intro is really good, some of the words are hard to pick out. 7/10 Superstar: Such a lovely song, simple yet effective lyrics. 9/10 I Don't Give A: This took a long time to grow, but now its up there for me, I for one adore the outro, its powerful and effective. 8/10 I'm A Sinner: Bit bland for me, its okay though. 6/10 Love Spent: I love how this picks up pace as it goes on, much better than the acoustic version 8/10 Masterpiece: Gorgeous, needed to be released, her vocals are touching. 9/10 Falling Free: See above really. ROL Madonna returns. 8/10 Beautiful Killer Has a slight retro feel to it, would sit nicely with GAYL on the main album. 8/10 I f***ed Up Very honest song and its really grown on me. 7.5/10 Best Friend: Bleh, not one I listen to much 5/10 B'day Song: Worst song on the album, wtf was she smoking when she recorded this? 0/10
