Posted June 13, 201213 yr So England's second group game and a vital one against Sweden. Whilst not as good a team on paper as France, Sweden should not be underestimated. Going to be a touch game, and history tells us the games against Sweden in major competitions are generally very close. I think England will win 2-0.
June 14, 201213 yr I'd play: Hart Johnson Terry Lescott Cole Young Gerrard Parker Milner Welbeck Carroll
June 14, 201213 yr Yep, it's a must-win for sure. I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet Rooney! I'd go for 2-1. Should be a great game.
June 14, 201213 yr Must-win game, especially if Ukraine get something against France. Sweden had very little possession in their first game which is encouraging, hopefully means our attacks won't merely be on the break.
June 14, 201213 yr That team's dangerous as long as Welbeck is disciplined enough to help out in midfield - or peel off and allow Gerrard to bomb forward provided that Milner can cover in the middle.
June 14, 201213 yr Author Not surprised if we play Carroll. I imagine we expect (and plan) to have more of the ball, so perhaps we won't play as deep. Pressing is absolutely vital though, I know Sweden are not a good a side as Spain, but if we afford them too much time on the ball players like Elm can really punish us. Having Carroll on the pitch though means it's easier to defend set pieces/free-kicks with him helping out. And the fact that when he's at his best the best centre backs in the world will struggle against him.
June 15, 201213 yr For anyone that isn't a fan of Mark Lawrenson and co.. Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave are doing the alternative commentary on the red button
June 15, 201213 yr Sweden team: Isaksson Granqvist Mellberg J.Olsson M.Olsson Larsson Svensson Kallstrom Elm Ibrahimovic Elmander
June 15, 201213 yr For anyone that isn't a fan of Mark Lawrenson and co.. Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave are doing the alternative commentary on the red button Surely that's worse?
June 15, 201213 yr For anyone that isn't a fan of Mark Lawrenson and co.. Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave are doing the alternative commentary on the red button I wouldn't subject my ears to Chris Moyles. Torture!
June 15, 201213 yr  I didn't say it would be better. Just for anyone that wants a change I don't think I'd be able to listen to 90 minutes of Moyles. Need a little bit of football insight even if it is from Lawrenson, Bright or basically anyone that has the slighest clue about football
June 15, 201213 yr 4 points in the next two games should be enough for England, but we don't want to be going into the game vs. Ukraine needing a win, so this is a must win game
June 15, 201213 yr Great goal from Carroll, we played well in the first half and kept the game flowing and kept the ball in Sweden's half most of the time. Another goal is well needed though in the second half and keep ball possession and try not to fall asleep, just because we are 1 up.
June 15, 201213 yr Great ball and header from Gerrard and Carroll Important we don't sit back now. Need a second goal or we'll be clinging on until the very end
June 15, 201213 yr What a BLOODY shambles. This is why I don't watch sport regularly. 5 minutes later: I TAKE IT ALL BACK. HUZZAH FOR WALCOTT Edited June 15, 201213 yr by Shoat
