'Lose My Breath' is the ultimate Destiny's Child song, imo. It's fantastic! The production is absolutely immense! It's just so slick and ahhh. I love it so much  All the rest of their songs seem incredibly overrated! Especially their older stuff like 'Bootylicious', 'Say My Name', 'Survivor' (*Vomit*) and 'Independent Women' (*Double Vomit*). 'Lose My Breath' still sounds like it could be a hit.

It started off well but then you hated on Say My Name, Survivor and Independent Women.

I think it would have been better if it was a Top 40 countdown and only allowing each girl-group to have one song each enter. I'm shocked that there is no Heart or Bananarama yet there are too many songs by the Saturdays and Sugababes. Some of the Sugababes songs are worthy of a place but others aren't ('About You Now' and 'Denial' mainly) and Saturdays should really just be banned from this competition! :kink:

Anyway, out of the selection, I'm backing either 'Manic Monday', 'Pure Shores', 'Lose My Breath' or 'The Promise'.

Limiting it to one song per girl group would not be about finding the best SONG, and more about the artist. I agree to an extent that some groups have too many songs in this countdown, imo Girls Aloud do. But who am I to argue when everyone had the same opportunity to vote for any song they wished and this is the list of the most popular songs voted. It obviously going to be skewed towards newer girl groups and most people who post on this site and voted were born in the 90s.

Too Much, Independent Women and Bootylicious have already gone? WHAT? Devastating.

At 65 is the first of FOURTEEN Girls Aloud songs, the album track 'Girl Overboard', it's decent enough but 65?! We also have more songs from Destiny's Child and The Pussycat dolls, as the first two songs to break the 100 point barrier. At 62 is the first of three TLC songs 'Unpretty' - beautiful song imo and should be a bit higher than where it is. FanMail was one of the first albums I ever bought :wub:! Also the first of the two Veronicas song is at 61, I certainly didn't realise this song was this popular o;
"Girl Overboard" is one of my favourite Girls Aloud albums tracks, but I didn't want to include it as the rest I've heard a lot more/had official releases[/geek] Amazing that they've lasted this far before having an entry though
I will always love that TLC song, however, is it bad that I actually far prefer the Glee mash-up of it? But 'Unpretty' deserves to be a lot higher. (Top 20/30 at least!) Same with 'I Hate This Part'. :(

"SOME PEOPLE SAY I LOOK LIKE ME DAD!" B*witched are at 60 with their best selling single 'C'est La Vie', which is now a cheesy room staple at clubs across the country. They have one more song left in the countdown. The Shirelles are at 59 with the oldest song on the countdown being released in 1960. At 58 is the Pussycat Dolls again, with imo their best song ever, and one of the best songs on this whole countdown and would be in the top ten if I had my own way. It has to settle for being their second most popular PCD song amongst you lovely folk of Buzzjack. Girls Aloud somehow manage to make it to 57 with possibly one of the dullest songs released, why three of you love it so much to put it in your top three is beyond me, but each to their own! 'I Wanna Be The Only One' finishes at 56 and is the last time you'll see Eternal in this countdown.

I hate this part should have been MUCH, MUCH higher!

I have to agree, 'Unpretty' should definitely be higher, I didn't vote for it, but it would definitely be in my top 40. The same with 'I Hate This Part', which has grown on me so much since it got released when I wasn't overly keen on it.

Aww poor Whole Lotta History not making the top 50, Still nice to see another 12 GA songs to come!

'I Wanna Be The Only One' should be much higher, I guess it's a bit too old for some members. :(

It's only over the past few months that I've realised 'Buttons' is my favourite PCD song, but the production is just so slick - the mid '00s were the sexiest time for pop music.

I think most people consider a girl group to be an ALL-FEMALE group (with no prominent, regular male members), which Heart never were. They were a female-fronted rock band - big difference. I believe male members were even in the majority in their most famous line-ups.

Some people wouldn't include Heart because of their genre, regardless of the gender of the members. Both reasons why nobody even considered them, I'd wager.

SO upset to see 'To You I Belong' crash out at 55, by far B*witched's best song and would probably feature in my top 100 songs of all time. This is B*witched's most popular song and the last you'll be seeing from them! The Pipettes are at 54 with a pretty good song, it's their most popular song on here and in the UK charts where it peaked at #26 in 2006. C.W will be sad to see his two favourites crash out after each other, The Bangles 1986 #2 hit comes in at 53. Another Girls Aloud song at 52, and although being good I don't think warrants a place at 52, and I'm glad that it's been beaten by some of their much better songs. 'Rock Steady', the lead single from All Saints' very brief comeback misses out on a place in the top 50 by ONE point. The Saints still have three songs left on the countdown.

WHAT KINDA f***ERY IS THIS?! 'To You I Belong' AND 'Manic Monday' below 'Can't Speak French'?! CSF should not be this high, at all. :( 'To You I Belong' I would have predicted top 15! :o So shocked (and disappointed) to see it crash out so early.

Some TRAGIC crash-outs so far, though none overly surprising. Finally Found the most gutting and the first of my top 5 to fall, but when only a few late 90s nostalgia geeks remember/love it how well was it really going to do? I guess it's a pretty respectable placing considering.

Angel of Mine, too, which should have been higher in my votes, but it would have only lifted it a few spots anyway.

Not shocked to see Too Much the lowest Spice Girls song (apart from the ones that didn't even make the cut). I really like the way it almost swirls around in this entrancing state but there's not much to it apart from that. Stop should be the lowest, but I have noticed its baffling popularity in some places - why I will never understand, when it's easily the least distinctive single from their '90s hey-day, but oh well. Hopefully it isn't top 20 anyway.

Most of the '00s entries are in their rightful places really. Buttons should be a bit higher perhaps, but not drastically so.

This section sees the last of The Pussycat Dolls who just make the top 50 with 'Don't Cha' and Atomic Kitten who make it to 47 with by far their most popular song on here and with the general public. I actually have the Kerry Katona version on CD , hence the inclusion of that video and not with Jenny. TLC are at 49 with their second entry, 'Waterfalls'. Sugababes have two songs from their 'Angels With Dirty Faces' era, 'Round Round' (at 48) and 'Stronger' at 46. 'Stronger' is my personal favourite from the Sugababes, and for me is in the top five of the songs on this countdown. It's such a shame to see it down in 46 :(

Manic Monday finished a bit higher than I thought it would actually, great to see the Bangles being the highest pre-90s group (I assume?) :D Pull Shapes is amazing too, I only discovered it relatively recently.

I'm expecting to be disappointed at whatever wins this, The Saturdays - Higher maybe? :P I hope its All The Things She Said or Love Machine.
