July 9, 201213 yr I am OUTRAGED that both "Whole Lotta History" and "Can't Speak French" are so low on this. GA look possibly at their BEST in the video for WLH and the funky pop of the latter was probably some of the best 2008 had to offer! OMG my GA loon is really coming out now- THANK GOD I wasn't on BJ when they were actually around!
July 9, 201213 yr Author Some TRAGIC crash-outs so far, though none overly surprising. Finally Found the most gutting and the first of my top 5 to fall, but when only a few late 90s nostalgia geeks remember/love it how well was it really going to do? I guess it's a pretty respectable placing considering. Angel of Mine, too, which should have been higher in my votes, but it would have only lifted it a few spots anyway. Not shocked to see Too Much the lowest Spice Girls song (apart from the ones that didn't even make the cut). I really like the way it almost swirls around in this entrancing state but there's not much to it apart from that. Stop should be the lowest, but I have noticed its baffling popularity in some places - why I will never understand, when it's easily the least distinctive single from their '90s hey-day, but oh well. Hopefully it isn't top 20 anyway. Most of the '00s entries are in their rightful places really. Buttons should be a bit higher perhaps, but not drastically so. I definitely agree with 'Stop' being their weakest song! I would have much rather see 'Holler' (which I absolutely love and do not care what anyone says) make it through. The most tragic fall outs for me as I thought they would all do much better than where they placed are 'To You I Belong', 'Buttonz' and in the last section 'Stronger'. I'm obviously gutted about 'Bootie Call' being so low, but I was happy it even made it through to the last 88!

I'm obviously gutted about 'Bootie Call' being so low, but I was happy it even made it through to the last 88! By the time they got to "Buttonz" the PCD had lost me- I did love "Don't Cha" which was a genuinely great pop song with an RNB edge but subsequent material was more RNB with a pop edge if that makes any sense! :D As for "Bootie Call" it always struck me as a rather souless creation, a bit auto-pilot esque from them, and certainly not a patch on the magnificent "War of Nerves" which was a masterpiece of repressed hurt and anger.
July 9, 201213 yr Tbh, I hope Sugababes highest charting song is About You Now, easily their best song.
July 9, 201213 yr Author 45 Spice Girls 'Goodbye' 157 points (same votes; lower highest vote) eegDtyrSUZw Highest voter: Slick (28 points) 44 The Saturdays 'Issues' 157 points (same votes; higher highest vote) ylJ7eNrvrug Highest voter: LeeWallace (29 points) 43 t.A.T.u 'Not Gonna Get Us' 158 points 0HL-N9oOjcs Highest voter: Hayzayy & ▲▲▲ (24 points) 42 Salt & Pepa 'Push It' 161 points vCadcBR95oU Highest voter: Thermometer (28 points) 41 Sugababes 'Overload' 167 points vPZM1SCeHiU Highest voter: ▲▲▲ (25 points) Spice Girls have their 2nd entry at 45 JUST missing out on making it into the top half as The Saturdays 'Issues' beat it to 44 due to having a higher vote 28. 'Issues' is the third entry for them, with three more to come. t.A.T.u are at 43 with this sublime song. It's their first on the countdown with one more to come. Salt N Pepa 'Push It' is at 42, which at the opening of the votes looks impossible! However, half way through they received several votes in the mid-twenties which has since pushed (no pun intended) to a mid-table placing. Sugababes debut single makes it to 41, just missing out on the top 40.
July 9, 201213 yr Author I actually cannot with Round Round being so low -_- It wouldn't have been so low if you'd have voted!

July 9, 201213 yr 'Overload' coming in lower than 'Run for Cover' is quite a surprise, I always thought people favoured their debut. No complaints though, 'Run for Cover' does edge it for me, though two of their absolutely finest moments right there.

Spice Girls are at 39 with one of their weaker songs, imo, and the song that broke their run of consecutive #1s. TLC's last song in the countdown, and their best, is 'No Scrubs' which I personally thought would be more popular and be in the running for a top 20 placing is at 38. 'Lose My Breath' makes it to 37 and leaves Destiny's Child with just one more song left in the shape of 'Survivor'. The Veronicas 'Untouched' is at 36, I'm majorly impressed with how well they have done after receiving just THREE points in the first thirteen votes. Edited July 10, 201213 yr by Casey__
July 9, 201213 yr Author Both 'Overload' and 'Run For Cover' are amongst their top five. 'Run For Cover' is definitely the better of the two and definitely deserves to be part of the 35 that remain. 'Overload' should have been in it too :(
July 9, 201213 yr 41' Sugababes 'Overload' :: 167 It's "alright" to me. I don't get the mass adoration for it, but it's not bad. 42' Salt-n-Pepa 'Push It' :: 161 Terribly overrated. It's awful and I am genuinely shocked to see it so high. 43' t.A.T.u 'Not Gonna Get Us' :: 158 Always has been underrated. Such a fantastic, dance pop song! 44' Saturdays 'Issues' :: 157 Their most underrated/under appreciated (at least) single. It's beautiful. 45' Spice Girls 'Goodbye' :: 157 One of their finest moments and quite possibly the perfect "goodbye" song. (Possibly 2nd only to S Club's 'Say Goodbye' for me). 46' Sugababes 'Stronger' :: 156 Bleh. Dull and lifeless. One of their weaker singles for me. I get why some people may find it relatable and what not though. 47' Atomic Kitten 'Whole Again' :: 154 As an Atomic Kitten fan, I must admit to this being deathly dull. Never got the fuss with it really and was upset to see this go on to be their biggest hit. It's bland and bleh. 48' Sugababes 'Round Round' :: 152 I find this dated now. I used to love it "back int day" but I genuinely don't think it's aged very well at all. 49' TLC 'Waterfalls' :: 142 Grr. Should be much higher (like 'Unpretty'). They really do have the "holy trinity" of songs, don't they? All 3 are incredible though. (I can't remember 'Creep') 50' Pussycat Dolls 'Don't Cha' :: 135 About the correct position for this. It's a fantastic debut single for a girl group (possibly since Spice Girls 'Wannabe' - YEAH I WENT THERE!) but they have better in their back catalogue so I'm not really disappointed it's "only" #50. 'Denial' is an excellent pop song and was always a standout from 'Change', for me. 'Stop' for me, is easily the Spice Girls best single. I love it. It's fun, catchy and simple. No special or clever tricks or anything. It's only their second best song for me though! (Behind 'Never Give Up On The Good Times'! Such an amazing song that should have been a single, imo). 'No Scrubs' is wonderful and I've already stated my love for 'Lose My Breath' (Eww at 'Survivor' of all DC songs to be above it). 'Untouched' is fantastic also! So pleased to see it do decently here and very happy it went on to be as big a hit as it was here! Loving this countdown CaseyUNDERSCOREX2.

As for the song itself, it's okay, certainly not good enough for no. 35 imo. 'Survivor' is the last song from Destiny's Child to feature, it is at 34, it's probably my third favourite from them. I did expect them to feature with at least one song in the top 20, but obviously not! I'm shocked to see Girls Aloud 'No Good Advice' at 33, whilst being a good song, is it REALLY that good?! 'Push The Button' is at 32, I've always found this the most overrated Sugababes song, it probably wouldn't even feature in my top ten of their back catalogue. Possibly the biggest shock for me so far is 'Black Coffee' coming in at 31. I really thought this would be a contender for at least top 15, but it's not to be. They still have two extremely good songs in the shape of 'Never Ever' and 'Pure Shores' to come.
