I'm partly disappointed there wasn't as much action as they built it up to be. No big war scene...yet!

I went through so many feelings in that episode though. Suspense at whether Andrea would get out, her scene with Michonne was heartbreaking - absolute genius! It was really great to see Michonne cry and show emotion rather than being blank faced all the time. I'm glad Tyreese and Sasha got out of Woodbury and the other two were killed, T + S really didn't belong in that crowd. I just can't believe The Governor didn't die. I would have been great if Carl killed him but got killed by The Governor in the process!

It will be interesting to see what happens next season, because it doesn't feel like it led to a natural series conclusion like Season 1+2.

I think that's my problem with it. I do respect them for not going down the predictable "all out war, Governor dies, Milton saved Andrea" etc.. route, but I'm just not a fan of series' that don't come to some sort of conclusion at the end of the seasons I guess. I like to know where I'm at! Going to watch it again now though, because I did enjoy it, I just didn't think it was finale worthy and it feels incomplete to me. (I get that, that's what it's supposed to feel like  - I'm just not a fan of this approach).

In response to my pliers comment, did anyone else find Andrea absolutely INFURIATING? Save your monologue for a bit later love and get those pliers!

I was disappointed as well. Especially bc in the comics from what I hear, Andrea is a main character who has yet to even die? Probably one of the first huge departures from the comic. As long as Michonne, Darryl, or Carol don't die, I'm happy though.

Well I thought the finale was excellent. I'm not going to use spoilers, so if you've read the first line and not seen the episode then don't read on.

All through this series, I've never really thought The Governor was menacing or that twisted. He hasn't had that much development where he could actually do that. But today he turned in to that psycho who really has lost all purpose and sense of humanity. I'm sure EVERYONE excepted him to die, and the fact he didn't was unpredictable. I'm sure the series will have a minor time jump and The Governor will re-surface and surprise everyone on a suicide mission (and obviously kill all the new Woodbury residents). Andrea's death was shocking, I thought she would get out.

The score used was brilliant. Reminded me of the way LOST used to effect me at times!

I really thought it was excellent too, just not what I expected (which in itself means amazing). I really don't think I can wait till October for season 4, I'm anticipating it so much already and more than for season 3.

I thought this was a good episode but it really didn't feel like a finale to me. My biggest frustration this season is that no story has had any pay off - especially Andrea's. I just think that after all the build up she would've got a bigger pay off than that.

I loved the finale too. Getting rid of the Governor so fast would've been a poor move - he's quite a fabulous deeply deranged villain.

Andrea! The pliers. Such a useless cow :'( If they kill off Michonne next season I SWEAR

I'm thinking it's Carl next. He's becoming a bit off. BUT I don't think they'll kill another child anytime soon :( Hershel next FOR SURE. Then Glenn. I'm feeling their time has started to end.

Pavel the octopus OUT

I'm sad for Andrea. I agree she's been quite irritating this seaon, but I will always remember her for the epic 2nd season evolution. If only for that, she deserved to stay for season 4.

At least she didn't do a "Lori" and died randomly at the begining of the season though. THAT was a shoker.

Overall, I really enjoyed this season, there have been many, many highlights.

I'm a bit unsure about season 4 though. I don't like the massive arrival of new people, what are we gonna do with them all? I don't want the prison to become a new Woodburry.

Plus I'm tired of the governor, I hope the storyline moves into something else next season, I want a new plot, not "let's kill the governor" all over again. Whenever he comes back, I hope he gets killed quickly.

And I like that every season has been associated with a different location, I hope there is a big unexpected event at the begining of the season so they move to a new place.

The new group of people is most likely going to die, let's be honest. Except a select few characters, like that girl who pretended to be dead to escape the Governor or something.

I think at least a few of them will survive and "naturally" replace actual characters who are going to die. Just like Glenn, Hershel and Michone joined the team. I hope it's not the black couple cause they've been so harmless and useless this season.

I think Carol is the most likely to die quickly at the start of season 4. I used to love her but she was hardly featured in the last episodes, and I don't see how she could be more helpful.

Carol will never die. I can see them killing off Hershel and Beth at some point next series for more stories with Maggie. I'm thinking Carol and Daryl will get even closer, Carl will go crazy and maybe die. Michone & Tyresse and Sacha & Rick will also have romance.
I was thinking the same about Carol too. You just cannot kill off a character after what she's been through with Sophia, her husband and with a potential romance around the corner. Daryl losing both his brother and her too. No way it's happening. At least not for half a season.

Tyreese, his Mrs and Beth have all been upgraded to Season 4 regulars!! BETH

That's his sister  but yay that's great. I think this means Beth will die then probably mid season finale. Also Karen has been upgraded to a regular as well. Still Carol is only a recurring character though WTF!!?!?!

That's why I think Carol will die : she's been through EVERYTHING, and I don't see how her character can evolve now.

Violent husband : done and dead. Missing daughter : done and dead. New romance : kind of done because it's been on for quite a long time now and it's not "fresh" enough to be really explored more. So yeah, I think she's about to get "dropped" in some way (and that's quite confirmed if she isn't a regular for next season).

Oh, and no way they kill Beth. I am 85% sure next season will be all about the developping relationship between Beth and Carl, it's obvious he has a crush on her and they are going to play with it.

What could maybe happen next season : the governor leads a desperate attack at the begining of the season, he fails but he manages to get away with a hostage (Beth and The baby?), so basically a team decides to hunt him. Carl will obviously "lead" the team (it's his love and his sister that's been captured), so Rick will obivously go too, Maggie will go too (to save her sister ), so Glenn will go too too, Daryl as well because he loves some action, but Carol won't (she's too "weak" to follow them, emotional moment when Daryl goes and says bye to her), Mishone will go (the governor killed Andrea) and the black couple will go with them too (cause they've been fooled by the governor, they feel guilty and they want to make it up). Two or three "newbies" will go with them as well. And ta-dah, bye bye the prison, the hunt begins! The hunt will run for a few episodes (mid-season?) until they find and kill the governor, but then they settle in a new place because they can't go back to the prison for some reason. The season will be 90% focused on the team, so we won't see much of the prison (that's why Carol would not be a regular).

That would be an amazing plot. Haha.

I just don't see any of that happening at all, it would be something completely unrelated to the comics which they haven't done before, if that would happen they wouldn't leave the people at the prison helpless so some would have to stay. Also Carol has never been a regular so why would they suddenly get rid of her for not being one? I'd be more worried about her staying for longer if she was promoted. Usually in shows like this when a character is suddenly brought to the front and has episodes about them that's because they will leave or die and make it more unexpected for the viewers.
Carol and Hershel are already regulars of some sort. Although they don't appear in the main credits, if you notice, in the episodes they don't appear in they both get credited, whereas the likes of Emily Kinney never did! I expect they'll explore Beth and Carl's relationship more and more next season. Hershel is obviously a goner in the near future, but his death will only come when it's critical for the story as his death would affect everybody.
