But it's shit though.

Norway has it in the bag, I think.

I'd quite like Ukraine to win, and they should be a possibility. I probably can't separate my love for it properly but it does feel like a winner to me. Norway, not so much.
Denmark all the way (in terms of predictions). It may not have the "right sound" for the charts of Europe, but Fairytale was pretty out there when you consider what else was charting in the UK/Europe at the time! Only Teardrops is the only song this year that's struck me as a winner. Glorious could have been, but I do think it'll lose out due to people associating it with Euphoria.
I honestly think that Cascada are going to flop on their arse. It's so incredibly crap and it really does sound like a try hard attempt to copy Euphoria. I'd love Denmark to win, and I think they have a strong chance, but Norway still stands out as a winner to me for some reason.

I agree with Lex, Cascada will probably be the biggest chart smash regardless of whether they win or not and I don't think it sounds too similar to Loreen, the performance especially won't be and it seems like one of only a few songs that the standing crowd will actually be able to dance to (what a year to introduce that eh ).

Denmark also sounds like it could be a top 40 'hit' in a Fairytale sort of way and has a very good shot. I'm not being sold on Norway at all but that's probably down to my hate for it, I think it's too subtle even if she can perform the hell out of it.

Ukraine does feel like a bit of a winner moment and would be the preferred choice out of the other slower/mid-tempo tracks. Wouldn't be a chart hit but feels like the Ell & Nikki of the situation.

La La Love shows that having charting potential doesn't mean you'll do any good on the night, even with a good performance. Loreen did so well in part because her performance was so different to the standard dance anthem entry performance - nothing about Cascada's package has succeeded before without being presented in an innovative way. I really don't see Cascada being in contention for victory...

As it stands, I could see victory going to any of Sweden, Ukraine, or Denmark at the moment (maybe Norway at a long shot. I'd absolutely love it to win but I think it might just be a bit too out there for most viewers). Ukraine would obviously be another Ell & Nikki scenario but it's memorable, accessible, she's got a terrific voice, and the amount they spent on the video indicates they're likely to go all out on the performance as well. Sweden could shock off the back of being pretty universal as an entry - the juries will love it I reckon, and the rule change to the voting should help it out a bit as it isn't the sort of track likely to finish last with voters even where it doesn't finish top ten. Give it a late slot and it's definitely in contention. Denmark's memorable, there's just a risk it might be a little too 'heard it all before'. I think it's the least likely of the three, but on paper at least it's got the winning formula.

(Of course this is totally ignoring that San Marino have it in the bag but there we go)
Plus, if we were playing the whole 'sounds most like a chart hit' game then surely Ireland would be the big contenders?

What about Ukraine is reminiscent of Ell/Nikki? Unless you mean it'll win just based on accessibility rather than anything else... which would apply to Denmark more from where I'm standing.

As in victory based on accessibility and not having much in the way of chart potential. Personally I'd love to see Gravity win - it's my favourite of the year by some way, but I very much do recognise it wouldn't be remembered as a classic winner!

The CD has been confirmed for release on 29th April according to the eurovision.tv official shop! :cheer:
So Robin is #16 in the final. Lucky bast*rd.

Decent draw for Sweden!

Other important updates that have been announced at today's meeting are:

  • For the Final, the first and second half of the Grand Final will be drawn at the winner's press conferences of the Semi-Finals.
  • The so-called Big 5 - France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and Italy - will be drawn to the first or second half of the Final during their first individual press conferences.
  • Producers will propose the running order and the EBU Executive Producer will approve it. For the Semi-Finals the running order will be done the latest by the 29th of March and for the Final on the 17th of May 3 am.

Less than 2 weeks at most until we find out the semis running order!! :cheer: I'm also glad that the Big 5 are going to be drawn into halves along with the rest of the finalists so that SVT can't immediately put Cascada at #1 which I felt they would do (with Bonnie being the big name to leave till the end of the running order).

I really would not be surprised to see a third Scandinavian winner in 5 years. Both Denmark and Norway have incredibly strong entries that could easily win. Sweden should finish top ten and I suppose I can just about see it winning but I think it's more likely that one of their neighbours will take home the title.

Why would Cascada of all entries be the one they'd 'immediately' put at #1?

Both Denmark and Norway have won when Sweden have been hosting before... Norway actually won in Malmö in 1985, maybe we can do it again? :kink:

I just had a feeling that it'd be a fantastic show opener plus the fact that Christer Bjorkman has also been particularly negative towards it, and Bonnie would still be a big name to keep viewers watching until the end.

I do hope that Cascada can get a fantastic draw though!
