So first they tested a new edit of Animal City on Promosquad (where new singles are tested), which you can listen to here http://media.putfile.com/Animal-City---Radio-Edit , and now they are testing a new version of Illegal.

I'll echoe what I said on another forum: Illegal, well...that is pretty bad. That drum beat on the verse is awful - it sounds like one of those homemade remixes where people just shove a $h!t beat over the song. The chrous isn't too bad but that echoe on her voice sounds awful and the violins are just really cheesy. Maybe in HQ it would be better but I doubt it. It sounds like something from the 90's

 

The Animal City radio edit is very good and everything matches - Illegal sounds like someone used copy and paste on a few beats.

 

Does anyone think that Illegal sounds like Pure and Simple by Hear'Say now :lol:

it does sound like Hear'Say! :lol: the beat just doesn't go with the verses, although I like the choruses. The intro is the worst part imo, but that said it gets better as it goes along.

 

Doesn't compare to the AC radio edit though, thats great. I think we will be seeing Ilegal as a single though :(

They better produce the final version a bit better. The beat just sounds stuck on - if it was a bit quieter it wouldn't be as bad.

Illegal sounds REALLY REALLY REALLY bad. It's just that beat!

It sounds like they have turned down her voice, taken away the music and got some sad ass to make a horrid beat noise.

The echoing is cool, and the new music for the chorus sounds good to. But they've still got that beat and her voice sounds so quiet.

 

But overall, it's BAD

the quality is pretty bad maybe the beat will sound better in the HQ version, but i agree as it is now the beat in the verse is dire, i don't mind the chorus part, they must still be undecided about illegal maybe animal city still has a chance!! i wish i was a fly on the wall when sony discuss single choices with shakira!!

I like the sound of the chorus being large and such, but the verses sound awful.

I hope "Illegal" is the next single but that beats is just bleh
