Great sales for her last week, i hope she can manage in or around the same during this week, hopefully she will hold steady enough in the top 30 this week now.

Abbey Roads sold very well last week and that success should be repeated again this week. Overall the album is doing very well but i have a question. In terms of Kylie herself and royalties, will this album of material work out the same as if Kylie did cover versions of other peoples song or would she get slightly more as she is covering her own songs even though she did not write the set of songs that happen to be on the album?

Depends on the terms of her contract with those writers. There's normally a writer/ singer percentage split so she'd still get that but things like the S/A/W stuff would be determinate on the terms of her contract back then and what the agreement was on "Loco-motion" etc, at least that's how I understand it,

It's like she released a Greatest Hits, in terms of royalties.

I think PWL was bought by Warner Music in the mid 90s but there have been so many mergers and takeovers since then who knows who owns the rights now. Obviously S/A/W still the songwriting royalties.

What's the total approximate sales now?

Down 3 places to number 28 - should hopefully stay Top 30 if she has some more promo lined up at the end of the week.

On the basis she doesnt drop an awful lot which i dont think she will, Kylie is safe for 25,000 sales this week.

Agree especially with the Alan Carr promo which should hold of any major decline. Oh how wonderful. Im so happy. The album must be almost on 140k now?

Alan Carr should keep it top 30, id be surprised if she is any lower. Im just after thinking next eek could have ok sales too( in general i mean not simply Kylie) as im sure Sunday and Monday will see alot of people buying cd's as pressies, hopefully Kylie can stay top 40 at the worst next week. Without this weeks sales Kylie is on in or around 140,000, that should rise to 170,000 when this week is added, i think the album is pretty safe now to sell 200,000.

This project was actually SUCH a good idea. A few people I know who aren't ordinarily Kylie fans are showing an interest in it, as silly as it sounds I feel proud of her. :lol:

I know what you mean, it does sound silly but I feel proud of her as well. Really pushing herself and doing something so different after last time she tried it.

I do dmire hr for doing something different and this time round it has been successful for her but i still prefer her storming pop numbers.

Yeah, it's definitely not something she should do all the time, but as a one-off, it's really something special!

Well the performance of come into my world on Alan Carr was a surprise as it was widely reported she would be singing Better the devil you know. She sang come into my world excellently and she looked bloody amazing. I hope it gives the album a sales boost. Sadly this album in general aint doing it for me, while the performance was good i know in my heart and soul if it wasnt Kylie performing i would have switched over as the style of music just isnt doing it for me. With this album doing so well and plenty of songs left over i wonder would she release volume 2? Could do well for the mothers day market or valentines for that matter.
