The two that spring to mind are Coldplay and Rihanna. Both have more than enough songs to fill a Greatest Hits.

Coldplay have had 17 Top 40 hits now from 5 albums.

Rihanna has had 25 Top 40 hits (as lead artist), also from 5 albums.

Do you think either of them will release a Greatest Hits compilation this year or in the near future?

What other artists are long overdue a Greatest Hits?

Wow, didn't realise Metallica hadn't released a GH. 19 Top 40 hits in a chart career spanning 25(!!) years... I guess the band must be against releasing compilation albums.

Black Eyed Peas

no no and no. unless it contains just 13 mixes of"just can't get enough" and"meet me halfway"

So how about a remix compilation album? Lol

I think Muse and Linkin Park are due one soon

Muse - They're just about to release album number 6.

I'd like a Red Hot Chili Peppers singles album, which includes ALL the singles unlike the 2003 GH album.

Also David Guetta would have enough for a GH album now, but I'd only buy it if it features his earlier stuff such as Just a Little More Love, When The Lights Go Out, etc.... as well as stuff from One Love and NBTB.

I don't think David Guetta's chart career has been consistent enough for a GH yet, he's only really been having big hits for the last couple of years. RHCP, Muse and BEP definitely though.

Another Kylie GH perhaps?

Yeah it's been at least a month now since the last one

Kate Bush, KLF,

Coldplay, Muse and Rihanna ones would be fairly packed with great stuff. But in the case of Rihanna it would probably not be the track listing of my preferences.

Looking at the current top 100; Usher, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Maroon 5, Sean Paul, Kelly Clarkson are all due GH's in the near future, as well as some artists already mentioned in this thread.
I only think that Coldplay will do a greatest hits when they split up and I doubt it will have any new tracks on it - same with Muse. Regarding Rihanna, I don't think that she'll release one within the next couple of years as she's only 23/4.

Rihanna's is definately stronger than Bey's!

The meaning of the word 'Greatest Hits' has been abused by the record companies. I get what they are doing, getting out a hits collection while the bands are at the top of their game to sell it but that isn't the point. They should just out and out say its a 'Singles Collection' like No Doubt did. Its not a greatest hits. A performer or band brings out a Greatest hits at the end of their career surmising the best of their output like Abba Gold or Queen 'Greatest Hits'.

The idea that Rihanna or Coldplay should bring out a Greatest Hits is ridiculous.

I think his point was that Coldplay and Rihanna are still going/in their prime, so they shouldn't be releasing their 'greatest hits' when they are potentially many great hits to come. The term 'singles collection' would be a better suited term for artists who are still going.

I do kind of agree here. What's the point in a Rihanna Greatest Hits if she'll have another 20 or so hits to add 5 years down the line? That said, she has plenty of songs to pick from so it would be a wise marketing move.
