Posted August 5, 201212 yr This week's commentary available from the front page and the latest news thread
August 5, 201212 yr Cheryl's 'A Million Lights' wasn't a number one album :P And technically this is Wiley's third #1 single as he scored 2 #1s with Roll Deep - however this is Wiley's first #1 as a solo artist Great commentary as always :D
August 5, 201212 yr Author I was concentrating far too much on the Olympics (both watching it and the theme in the commentary) so a few mistakes crept in. Sally Oldfield sang on some of her brother's albums but not Moonlight Shadow. The word "second" is missing from the Underworld bit. Caliban's Dream should have been described as their joint second biggest hit. I could also have made a connection between Trainspotting and joint. The reference to an artist replacing themselves at number one in the Calvin Harris bit was written on Monday and should have been deleted. I would also have done more on Shakespeare but didn't make the link until it was too late to do much. So no mention for his sister (under the correct or incorrect spelling). Thanks to paulgilb at Haven (also a member here) for pointing out the mistakes. The corrected version is now available.
August 6, 201212 yr Adele's 21 Album is now on its 75th Top 10 Week, in the UK. August 6, 201212 yr Author Thanks for that. It's a shame I missed Adele overtaking Mike Oldfield as she is, of course, one of the other artists to have a number one and two album simultaneously.
August 6, 201212 yr Only 7 more top 10 weeks to go until '21' has more than any other album by a solo artist (I wouldn't count the weeks of 'Thriller 25' along with the original 'Thriller' as they chart separately).
