She needs a good push to get top 10 and then I'll be very happy.

 

I'm overplaying the song at the mo, it feels so good playling it while walking down the streets, especially with the hot weather of course :dance:

Yes totally!! :wub: It's a great song, and there's nothing else much like it out now, and it's so uplifting. I hope it can go top 10, it's radio airplay is still increasing.

She's #12. It's a shame the V Festival effect and a new release is probably going to push her lower, if she could climb into the top 10 before midnight then it would be great because it could climb faster after it, but I don't think she'll overtake Porter Robinson and Redlight.

Has Cheryl got any promotion planned for Under The Sun? I doubt she will perform on Red Or Black.

Are Little Mix appearing on tonight's Red or Black? If they are, it will boost sales of Wings when it's released in 2 weeks.

No, she has no promo planned... I was going to say "she's THAT lazy" but since I don't know what she's doing at the moment I won't say it. Although if she is doing nothing then it doesn't make sense there is no promo planned.

No, it was Alan Carr's Summer Specstacular 2. She performed 'Live It Up' (without Tyga, obviously). It was an alright performance I guess, but the song is just dire. Sounds too much like 'Start Without You' by Alexandra Burke; and even that sounded like a nursery rhyme. Big fan of 'Young' and that dance-direction, shame she's chosen to take an urban direction with the second single; I predict it'll underperform (see Pixie Lott's 'What Do You Take Me For?')

I don't understand why she said it's really urban and so radio wouldn't play it. Its not exactly urban, I don't really know what it is just that it's not that good :P

The song is urban through and through. :lol: And the same goes for most things Tulisa has ever done, Young was just a one-off.

 

And she's right about the radio thing aswell. For example, Capital FM's 10 most recent played songs atm consists of 8 dance songs (David Guetta/Nicki Minaj, Example, Rita Ora, Swedish House Mafia/Tinie Tempah, will.i.am, Wiley, Jessie J, The Wanted), 1 urban song (Trey Songz) and one "other" song (Coldplay/Rihanna).

 

Tulisa's song doesn't use a dance beat like those other songs, so it's obviously going to be played less than Young on the radio. Like how What's My Name? got played much less than Only Girl, for example. Urban songs are always more risky to release, which is why artists like Nicki Minaj that are scared to take any risks never release them.

The song is definitely urban. I listen to that sort of music all the time, it sounds just like many other urban songs. Just because Tulisa is white it doesn't mean she can't do urban songs.

This should finally make the top 10 next week then if it can't sneak in this week! Was worried the Olympic-related boosts would prevent this from going top 10.

 

Porter at #11, Elbow at #9 - it is great to see 'One Day Like This' still holding onto the top 10 but I really hope Porter can somehow kick them out by the end of the day and get the top 10 effect so he stays there for the next week. Not going to happen though, Stooshe will probably overtake him any second now from the weekend effect :(

 

Kate Bush down to #14, starting to fall quite quickly but should still have an official top 10 re-entry in the bag (might drop to around #7/8?) which will be brilliant anyhow.

I think this could end up with a top 10 run close to the length of We Are Young's - fun. can definitely be crossed off the list of 2012 one hit wonders anyway, to be replaced by Sam And The Womp :P

 

Muse still at #32 and they were still in the top 20 in yesterday's mids, so they should still re-peak - I thought they'd be out of the top 40 by now TBH!

I agree, I think Some Nights will be a big hit. I actually think fun. have a very long mainstream career ahead of them tbh. Especially now that their style of music is doing better and better in the charts as time goes on.

I listen to a lot of urban music as well, I don't think any fan of urban music (except you) would class it as urban. Anyway, there is no point in keeping discussing if it is/isn't urban.

The songs that have been at #1 recently have been so predictable. I wish that there could be some "out of the blue" number 1's.
It wasn't very long ago when Spectrum stunned the whole forum in going to #1.
