It's been No.1 combined for the last couple of days. I hope it can be steady at No.1, even when it's only combined and I hope the lead increases to secure them the No.1 spot on Sunday.

No.2 on Friday update of the midweeks. Unfortunately the lead is not big enough, let's cross fingers for this to have a weekend effect tomorrow and turn the tables to give Britney her first UK No.1 since 2004!
Number 1 on iTunes again! I hope it's enough (doubt it though) for them to get it this week. It's Dark Green on kworb, with 'Impossible' Dark Red. :D (plus the second version further down).

So it could happen this week? It's going to be a close one! There's every chance of it happening next week if it doesn't this week!

I think it'll most definitely be next week. Not getting my hopes up about this week to be honest, but it'll be extremely close.

In their 5th week on the chart will.i.am & Britney move up to No.1 in this week's midweeks. James Arthur drops to no.2.

IS IT HAPPENING? IS IT REAL LIFE? IT'S BRITNEY BITCH GETTING ANOTHER UK NUMBER 1! <3 Her first UK number 1 in nearly 9 years. OMG. SO HAPPY.

I do hope nothing is given a surprise release this week. I reckon sales will be low (60k-70k for Willney - decent enough) but if a major star (Beyoyo or GaGa) releases a shock new song by Thursday, I fear for the number 1 for Brit.

Nearly 9 :P

Depending on the chart rules, Britney may be facing another Eagles vs. 'Blackout' situation this week! :drama: This time only for David Bowie to come and steal it from her with a track that wouldn't usually be chart eligible! But with the way the track has blown up, they may be forced to change the rule. Thus denying Brit from another number 1! Ugh.

Doesnt help that the Bowie song is so bland either.

Can someone explain what happened with Blackout missing the #1 (in the US and here)?

And we should be finding out today whether Bowie is eligible to chart or not. Fingers crossed! This has to be their week...

Basically... The Eagles released an album through one store, and there was originally a rule that stated that an album could not chart if it was only available in one store, however the rules were changed the week "Blackout" came out, and this album got to #1. Still deservedly though, the sales were very high!

I agree with you... The Eagles album had sold around 700k while Blackout had "only" sold 290k, so I think the rule change was quite spot on, mainly cause the rule was a bit stupid to begin with.
