I know why tirren left now! He couldn't stand the fact he'd probably have to give Frank + Derol a 12 in the final since he gave them a 12 in the Semis. UGH selfish little cunt.

I still don't get why The Storm flopped so badly when I entered them the first time round. It's almost as if everyone was waiting for Scandipop to feature them before deciding they were any good!

Same with Asaf Avidan. Both songs are equally amazing and got my 12. So weird.

Can't believe Rontvia almost DNQd. Well, I actually CAN. But it'd be SO funny to see Kopecka/Ashton/Rontvia all DNQing while Kylienips finish Top 10 :D

I need to win next month because I don't like finishing within the 14th-17th region third time on the trot.

can anyone tell me where Grouplove finished?

I can't see board :(

23rd.

My Internet went so catching up now!

Congrats Aeroche for a repeat win, is this the first ever? I think Rontvia did it but I'm not 100% sure. Talking of Rontvia, Million Dollar Sign is far too low! As is The Way I Like It. I did quite like Moan, Sulk is alright but it could've been a far worse winner! Bit disappointed with my finish but again, could've been far worse and it's still an improvement on recent form  Thanks those of you who voted, especially the 12s  WOAH at 2nd in semi 2, shame it didn't do that again in the final but on well!

Rich, this is gonna sound weird but is your member title thing 'Euphoria' in ba da da's?

Nope, it's from my BJSC entry from a couple of contests back, the Haloo Helsinki! song...

Yeah I did the double with Sheelah's The Last Time and Lykke Li's Sadness Is A Blessing last year, although I didn't host the second one. I'm not that bothered with how badly Million Dollar Signs did, I've sort of got used to not doing very well this year, the contest has changed shape completely in the last few months. Not saying it's a bad thing as I love most of the songs doing well (Aeroche got 10 points from me, Isconia got 6), just a sign of the times. I've had my glory years and its nice to see other people doing well consistently now.

As an aside, my unlikely 12 pointer to Zechonia was reciprocated :o Talk about the most unlikely 12 swap I've ever done!

I'll send Albanian Pop Dance in next contest  and flop again

:yahoo:

Can Kathaldazia come back with South African dance pop and Tapitilandia with the new single from Bellamia now pls.

I've just read... most of the thread (I was on my phone last night and I was not reading an entire thread on that piece of junk) and it was a great final, really. VAGUELY disappointed with 6th but it's not much worse than what I'd expected so it's fine. Thanks for everyone who voted Umiiruka! 'Sulk' would not have been my chosen winner (was rooting for Altyr for most of the final) but it is an excellent song so well done Leww and also congrats on hosting a brilliant contest.

The whole "this contest is too indie now" backlash is a bit unfortunate. :( I'd like a pop winner too, but at the end of the day BJSC isn't about the winner, it's about discovering songs. And there are still a lot of excellent pop songs in the mix. A BJSC without the indie countries would be really a much worse contest if you ask me, I like the diversity of the contest right now.

GURL. You had three Top 10s in a row, no? And four Top 11s! Greedy bitch.

You had about FIVE HUNDRED OF THOSE. Give the hipsters some space to BREATHE.

I can now announce that despite Eledan not awarding Aeroche with a 12 (but only a 10) this month* we already recognise 'Sulk' to be the best BJSC winner of ALL TIMES.

*due to knowing the song for more than half a YEAR (although still LOVING it).

I've only been around for one! I'm not complaining anyway, I'm just saying that while I do like most of the current winners (aside from the Russian pair which were rather horrid), I would enjoy a good pop song taking it again at some point. But yes I'm not begrudging the indie winners, lord knows it's better than something like Diandra romping home.
have a couple of 'indie' countries really changed the contest that much? it's obvious that lewis' last 2 winning songs are popular with the majority of people or else they wouldn't have won and a few sets of votes from the 'indie' countries can't influence the whole thing. maybe people just never wanted to take the risk so it has always stayed the same but people clearly wanted to see some difference.

HA, I'm on a top 10 streak at the moment, Tegan & Sara nearly came close. My next goal is for a win :D I've entered this contest from day 1 and never had a win, a win must be looming surely.

And at Rich, your track just didn't click with me again this month, you need to jump on the Indie bandwagon :kink:

Kooky... in that case you got another win in the bag

One could argue that the contest always had indie people but just not enough to overpower the pop fans. The "hipsters" joining may have been the tipping point in which the indie countries finally became the majority and I would definitely say the new indie countries have changed things. But yes obviously you can't win with a minority, Moan and (especially) Sulk were clearly well liked across the board, even if the more strictly pop countries disliked them.

ps. people - "sulk" is a pop song okay!

If it's not sung by a slutty woman then it's not pop.

I've been thinking this. I mean even WIKIPEDIA says it's (synth)pop and we all know Wikipedia never lies.
