Posted August 23, 201212 yr The original film is seriously, one of my favourite horror movies, ever. Such a brilliant film. Chloe being cast as Carrie is a very positive sign for me. A couple of pictures have leaked online: Better be good!
August 23, 201212 yr The original film TERRIFIED me. Although like Jark, I don't see the point. I'm not sure I could go through those feelings again.
August 23, 201212 yr is it only me who thinks that chloe moretz looks like a miniature christina applegate?
August 24, 201212 yr I love the original film. Seriously looking forward to this. Not due out in America until March 2013 though. Sounds like a straight remake except Carrie's dad is in this one. Edited August 24, 201212 yr by Common Sense
August 24, 201212 yr They had better not ruin this golden classic. One of the greatest horror films of all time. I'm firmly against 99% of remakes, but i hope i'm proven wrong here!
August 25, 201212 yr Author A sequel WAS released (in 2003 (?)). It was actually good for the deaths, but was ultimately forgettable.
September 27, 201212 yr I'm a little less precious about this than some of King's other stuff (speaking of which, I'm getting rather impatient for the film adaptation of 11.22.63) and the original, while brilliant, wasn't to my eyes quite the pinnacle of horror it's made out to be. If this is done well it'll be great, but I have a horrid feeling they'll cock it up. I don't think Chloe Moretz is gawky enough to play Carrie.
October 27, 201212 yr Author This has been around for a while now, but here's the official teaser trailer for the official trailer! RaHzUMq8iaM :D
October 27, 201212 yr Carrie for me was special in its time and place, and as a film it's a wonderous thing to be transported back there. I am really against all remakes, i just hope that one of my favourite ever films isn't butchered like i've seen happen to so many before. I'll try to remain optimistic though...
October 28, 201212 yr I know it's in my sig (mainly because it's just a generally awesome poster) but I fear they've Hollywood-ised this too much. Sissy Spacek was just about ordinary looking enough to play Carrie as she was written (although I could have sworn she was supposed to be chubby?), I don't think Chloe is. Plus Julianne Moore is COMPLETELY different from how I imagine her mother.
November 4, 201212 yr The original film left me terrified to leave the house for MONTHS. May go and see this. But it's not really a film that needed remaking.
April 6, 201312 yr It actually looks really good! Chloë Grace Moretz is such a fantastic actress at such a young age, and it's nice that the character's age is believable, unlike in the original. Although she is too pretty to be Carrie. I'm still not sure I want to see it because I'm such a wimp though!
October 8, 201311 yr BEST PROMOTIONAL VIDEO EVER: VlOxlSOr3_M Ha! Brilliant. Really excited for this. The original is one of my favourite films ever for its simplicity in approach, but I never really understood why people find it so scary. It's a girl with telekinetic powers who goes on a vengeful walk around town, sure, but it just sounds too much like a background story of any X-Men character to be scary.
