Rebecca has confirmed this for an October release as well as a "super deluxe" version of album 'Heaven'.

 

 

I love it and hope it can be another success for her, sounds like it could be her biggest hit so far (although it only has NRBL to really beat).

Woo! Loving 'Backtrack' and should do really well, especially with an inevitable X Factor performance! Nice and uptempo as well! :D

With an X-Factor performance, there's no reason this shouldn't easily outpeak Nothing's Real But Love tbh. I can see it perhaps top 5 but certainly about 7/8. Great song, and obviously it not being on the album that's already sold 500k+ will help it greatly. Should certainly do a lot better than her top 180 SMASHES :lol:

She's so beautiful though isn't she? I'm glad she's such a success this era, though I can definitely see her second album going the same way as Duffy's :(

I think Rebecca Ferguson is one of THE new talents of 2012 - her album is so strong and her voice is beautiful. I hope this gives her a little more exposure and boosts her sales. It deserves to be double platinum.

She should have used this single to release album No.2 this autumn. Strike while the iron is still hot!!

I'm quite disappointed that we aren't getting a new album this year - I think it would have been more benefit to her career to get a second album out there while there's interest in her.

 

I have to agree about her being one of our best new talents though, her album was surprisingly strong considering she had the main writing credit on every track. She has such a pretty track. I'm glad "Backtrack" is getting a release here, I just wanted a new album instead.

Well the video is a bit of a boring non-event, but the song is really good and I hope it manages to do well for her.

A new album would have more beneficial to her long term career and would have probably done well on the back of the last album plus the timing of the release.

She's performing this on the second live show of The X Factor! :D I'm hoping for at least another top 40 hit, but top 20 would be even better. It's not had much promotion up to now though, so it's unlikely.
