That sounds about right, Robbies album titles are usually quirky like that. Im sure I remember him saying that the album would feature a duet as well and that's here as well, along with the rumoured Candy and Losers which he sung to that kid on chatroulette..Look forward to hearing it

The link was right yesterday, looks like it's been taken off site.

So is the new single called 'Candy' after all?

I suppose there's no chance of Track 5 being a single then.....

Might need quite a lot of bleeping on Radio Clyde.
What a weird name for an album  wonder what it means :o

Well, if indeed it is going to be called Take the Crown,

Remember in his self-proclaimed 'King of Pop' days he was always telling the younger up and coming male solo acts that there was no vacancy and that basically he, RW ,was still top of the tree?

Maybe now he's saying, I've had my day, someone else can have my 'King of Pop' crown.

Either that or he's had a bad experience with Dulux paint and is recommending the most popular alternative...

 .. maybe he should try Fleetwood -_-

You could be right, every dog has it's day .... anyway i still love him, I think he's great

I'd be more inclined to think that the title " Take The Crown " is a reference to him taking back the crown as the King of Pop which he still is .. always was .. I mean it's not like there's anyone to replace him .. the crown is rightfully his !!

Music has changed a lot since Robbie really had the crown, I doubt this new song Candy is going to regain it for him <_< Hey Ho !! maybe I will be proven wrong but i doubt it. the last collab with GB was Shame & that was a diabolical song so I am not holding out much hope really

Robbie Williams unveils Take The Crown

by Tim Ingham

Source: MW

Robbie Williams has lifted the lid on his upcoming ninth album, Take The Crown - his first for Island/Universal.

The LP will be released on November 5, and contains tracks including Be A Boy, Shit On The Radio, All That I Want and Losers (featuring Lissie). It was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Jacknife Lee, whilst featured orchestra parts were recorded at the fabled Capitol Studios in LA.

“After the Take That reunion – a busman’s holiday, a break from my career which re-energised me in many, many ways – I wanted to come back with a massive solo album," said Williams. "My main priority was to write what I consider, and hopefully what the world would consider, to be hits. I’m very excited”.

The first single from Take The Crown will be Candy, co-written by Gary Barlow. The track will be released on October 29.

Said Williams: “It’s a summer song, about a girl who thinks she’s great. And she might be, but she’s a bit nefarious with her ways. Some songs take an age to write and some songs just fall out of your mouth completely formed, and you don’t have to think about it. I don’t know why that fell out of my mouth and out of my brain at that particular time – it just did”.

Williams has sold more than 60 million albums in his solo career and won 17 Brit awards - more than any other artist in history.

He rejoined Take That in 2010 and was a key part of their multi-platinum Progress album and record-breaking associated tour.

The star announced in October last year that he was leaving long-term record label EMI as a solo artist and that he had signed a worldwide album deal with Universal.

Universal Music UK chairman & CEO David Joseph said at the time: "Having had the chance to listen to the music I've no doubt that Robbie is currently at his most creatively inspired. We are about to witness something very special."

Take The Crown will be Williams first album since 2009, when he released Reality Killed The Video Star - a product which went platinum across Europe, but was also the first solo album of his career not to hit No.1 on the Official UK chart.

Its official, just poached this artiecle from MW

Reported cover:

Clever title, it somehat says he is back to take back his status as number 1 male again, i do like the cover sleeve, its different and it is the type of cover that will stand out on the shelves. I am interested in what the opening sales will be for this album.

I like the title as Pippa says it's a statement that he is back to his best. Not sure about the album cover though, the deluxe one where he isnt shouting or whatever he is doing looks better.

And it seems that despite all the doubters Gary Barlow has helped Robbie get back to his best in a Guy Chambers-esc role with MW describing the new single as "A brilliantly addictive classic pop song written with Gary Barlow".

PS Not sure if everyone has seen this:

Music industry magazine, Music Week, have already had a sneak listen and are singing Take The Crown's praises:

“Take The Crown is the big, brash, confident Robbie Williams pop record that his fans have been longing for but maybe didn't dare expect. If it had a sub-title it would be ’In Case You'd Forgotten’. Not wishing to denigrate the art of the record executive, but Island may as well have chosen the lead single by chucking a dart at the inlay sleeve. They couldn't have missed. Because there are no misses. Just hits - huge pop hits.”

Oh and it will be a JLS Vs Robbie rematch for the UK number 1 album on the 5th November! Although I can't see it being anywhere near as close this time...Robbie should storm it
