Group D looks extremely tough! It's basically the best teams from each pot in that group.

Apart from swithing Ajax for PSG/Juventus then definitely. The Champions of the three strongest leagues in Europe all in the same group, Man City get the hardest group again.

Did anyone watch the Udinese/Braga penalty shoot out? Only one missed was a Panenka where the keeper was able to save it down the middle. Bet they're incredibly pissed off with him.

Arsenal should be pretty pleased with that, Chelsea's group looks fairly friendly although they could have done without Juve. United's is ridiculously easy (just as well, they may not be top seeds next year if they don't get through) and City have the bum draw. Again.

Didn't everyone say that about United's group last season ?

Although, I'd expect they've learnt from that

Group C: AC Milan, Zenit St Petersburg

Group D: Real Madrid, Man City

Im looking forward to watching Man Shity get embarassed by Real Madrid.

Well that went well.

I didn't see the game tonight but sounds like a cracker, unlucky for City even if Real did have most of the play.

I didn't understand talk of Man City being embarrassed before the game. They're the premier league champions and have spent millions assembling their squad. Surely you'd expect them to match Madrid closely?

What a game between Young Boys and Liverpool. Finished 5-3 to Liverpool. 5 goals in the second half. Liverpool were 3-2 down at one point but Jonjo Shelvey scored twice to save Liverpool's blushes.

Liverpool also got Udinese and super-rich Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in their group.

I was expecting a defeat when you consider the lack of experience in the side that was put out, so a 5-3 win away from home is a welcome surprise. I'm sure it'd have been an entertaining game for the neutral, but I was more concerned about how poor defensively we've been this season. Enrique and Carragher in particular weren't great

How good was it last night? Arsenal & City both losing, and Dortmund (as I expected, top side) beat Madrid at home.

Manchester City are virtually out, and Schalke exposed Arsenal's weaknesses. I guess Steve Bould isn't the world's best ever defensive coach

A third straight draw for Tottenham with a 1-1 draw with Slovenian side NK Maribor away. Bit of a tough match for Liverpool tonight against mega-rich Russian Club Anzhi Makhachkala.
