September 3, 201212 yr I don't think it's fair to allow cherry-picked album tracks to break a T40 run, as that gives an unfair advantage to pre-download acts.
September 3, 201212 yr These artists in the current top 40 have never had a single chart between 41 and 75 (or between 76 and 100 since mid-2007); Katy Perry (14 hits) Tinie Tempah (14 hits) Cover Drive (5 hits) Dappy (5 hits) Carly Rae Jepsen (2 hits) Eva Simons (2 hits) fun. (2 hits) Little Mix (2 hits) Ms D/Dayo Olatunji (2 hits) Redlight (2 hits) Stooshe (2 hits) Alex Clare (1 hit) Fazer (1 hit) Janelle Monáe (1 hit) John Newman (1 hit) Lucy Spraggan (1 hit) Of Monsters And Men (1 hit) Rudimental (1 hit) Sam And The Womp (1 hit) Sirah (1 hit) Not very many at all then, aside from those only on their first or second hit! Cheryl Cole is screwed over (pun intended) by 'Screw You' charting at #100 on the release of her album, she's otherwise on 8/8 top 40 hits.
September 3, 201212 yr well...if you want 100% entries on official singles while the act was still together no-one can beat The Beatles. Every single from Love Me Do Oct 1962 to Let It Be march 1970 made the Top 20, 17 of them made number one. In 7 years. Every album made number one, every EP made number one in the EP chart, singles were largely not on the albums, they made 4 films, usually released 2 albums a year and always released at least one. John Lennon also made the Top 40 with every single released until 1984, 4 years after he was murdered. 22 years in total. Only Jealous Guy, peaking at 45 in 1988, missed out on the Top 40 (It was 17 years old). They had the entire Top 5 in the American Hot 100 one week when they had another 8 or 9 hits lower down (not downloads, actual physical singles) and became the biggest British act of the 2oth Century worldwide, virtually every official single release (bar one) since they split up went Top 40, plus loads of re-issues, and they are still one of the biggest-selling worldwide acts of the 21st century, and two of them are dead. 7 years. perfection. No-one will ever match their output, quality, success and inventiveness. It takes most acts 4 years to get round to releasing an album. The most recent serious attempt to challenge them success-wise is Rihanna, but I think she's already over the 7 years and not close to rivalling The Beatles in Big Hits and Big Albums but she's young and has her eye on Madonna's long-term female crown.... Westlife had a long-run of forgettable Number Ones and Top 40 hits, most of them 1-week fan-based week-of-release...
September 3, 201212 yr Westlife had a long-run of forgettable Number Ones and Top 40 hits, most of them 1-week fan-based week-of-release... And what does this mean... Not a fan of Westlife, apparently :P

September 3, 201212 yr Author Oasis have an impressive record indeed! Shows all these years on...a strong fan base. Doesn't Vicki Beckham have the best record out of all the Spicies with 100% Top 10s?
September 3, 201212 yr Oasis have an impressive record indeed! Shows all these years on...a strong fan base. Doesn't Vicki Beckham have the best record out of all the Spicies with 100% Top 10s? Yeah but to be fair she's only released 4 singles the others released a lot more
September 3, 201212 yr And what does this mean... Not a fan of Westlife, apparently :P afraid not..and I've never met anyone of any age who admits to being a fan, which is mysterious as they sold an awful lot of albums at one time. Maybe people just dont like admitting they bought them...! :( I'm happy to admit I think their best ever single was one they wrote themselves (I think - Bop Bop Baby). Their fans seemed to prefer cover versions sadly....
September 3, 201212 yr In their short chart career, Robson and Jerome almost achieved a 100% No.1 record. Three No.1 singles and two No.1 albums in 1995/6. Only their 'best of...' album let them down reaching No.20 in 1997. I sometimes wonder if Robson And Jerome were just a bad dream!!!
