Jessie is definitely, very love/hate. People seem to either LOVE her (Me, Davidson, Nick) or HATE her (everyone else). There's just something about her and although her debut isn't very cohesive in it's sound and sounds a bit all over the place, they're still strong, pop songs that come to life when you've witnessed them live. I can see the hate that people have on her though, but I guess I'm just more tolerant of these sort of things and can look past them and whatnot.

19| Leona Lewis - 385 points (10-13-19)

The most successful artist to ever come out of the X Factor, Leona Lewis has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and hit #1 in many countries with 'Bleeding Love' and 'Spirit'. She has accumulated 8 top 10 singles in the UK, many of which were also hits around the world too. Leona drops 6 places this year, however this rate was done prior to the release of 'Glassheart' which has so far peaked in the top 3 in the UK albums chart as well as produced top 10 single 'Trouble'. 'Lovebird' is Leona's current single and it is thought that fan-favourite and title track 'Glassheart' will be next single in the new year. Leona is also going back into the studio next year to presumably start work on album number 4!

20| Ellie Goulding - 369 points (44-40-20)

Ellie Goulding is one of the highest climbers this year despite at the time of the rate not having released a single in the UK since 'Lights' in early 2011. 'Lights' went on to become a #2 smash over in the US. Now, Ellie's second album 'Halcyon' has been released and has charted at #2 in the UK and #9 in the US. Also, lead single 'Anything Could Happen' was Ellie's 3rd top 5 hit and has also charted in several countries around the world including #56 so far in the US. 'Figure 8' is currently in the UK iTunes top 40 and should secure Ellie a 7th top 40 hit (including her Tinie Tempah collaboration) before we reach the end of 2012.

I really like Jessie, I mean, I can see why she's disliked, but I personally love her songs and her album.

Me too! I really like her as well. :D Although I haven't liked anything that's she released from Domino onwards.

I LOVED Jessie when she came onto the scene with a bang (DILAD), and even went to see her live :drama:

It just went downhill after that, and i can't stand hearing her music now unfortunately.

I feel the exact the same.

For me, it's the fact that Capital force her music down our throats by playing it every minute of the day. Not to mention her music style has completely changed. She's gone from being so unique with DILAD, to so generic with Domino and LaserLight.

Nice to see Ellie have a good climb! 'Halcyon' has confirmed her to be one of my favourite artists !

15| Christina Aguilera - 435 points (9-15-15)

Christina Aguilera stays at #15, her most recent release prior to the rate being the massive collaboration with Maroon 5 'Moves Like Jagger' peaking at #1 in several countries and at #2 in the UK. Since the rate, Christina has released her 5th studio album 'Lotus' and lead single 'Your Body' both only gaining moderate success worldwide.

16| Lily Allen - 432 points (22-18-16)

Despite not releasing a single since 'Who'd Have Known' back in 2009, Lily Allen climbs 2 places to #16. She has featured on 'Just Be Good To Green' and '5 O'Clock' in the last couple of years which both peaked in the top 10 in the UK. Overall, Lily has so far accumulated 8 top 40 hits - 2 of which were UK #1s - as well as two UK top 2 albums which were both very successful worldwide.

17| Florence Welch - 414 points (33-29-17)

Climbing 12 places since last year, Florence Welch has enjoyed much success this year. A remixed version of 'Spectrum (Say My Name) by Calvin Harris secured her band 'Florence + The Machine' a first UK #1 hit and their album 'Ceremonials' became the band's second #1 album last year. Recently, Florence featured on Calvin Harris' UK #1 'Sweet Nothing' and is currently in the process of releasing the next single from the album 'Lover to Lover'.

18| Jessie J - 400 points (26-18)

Jessie J jumps 8 places after another successful year following her breakthrough in 2011. 'Domino' became Jessie's 2nd UK #1 in January 2012 and also peaked at #6 in the United States. 'Laserlight' with David Guetta was Jessie's 7th top 20 hit and she also was a judge on the UK's version of The Voice in the first half of 2012. She is currently finishing off her 2nd album and filming the audition stage for the 2nd series of The Voice UK scheduled to air in the first few months of 2013.
