A 1 place drop is not bad at all, we can just hope and pray he remains top 10. I noticed he mas made a number 14 over in Ireland and his version of first time ever i saw your face is a new entry at number 90 on their singles chart. I was quiet happy when i read up on the irish music news that when we collide is the 4th biggest selling single in the last 20 years in Ireland, great achievmeent Matt.

I knew when we collide did well in Ireland but didnt realise it had done that well, im glad he managed top 20 in the album chart here in Ireland but i just hope it doesnt completly plummet next.
Thankfully Matt has held his top 10 position and has his second top 10 album entering at number 8. Also first time ever i saw your face enters at number 92 in the singles chart given him another top 100 hit.
This is a very solid album, has anyone else bought and listened to it yet?

Yes really like it just don't think it has the legs to continue to sell well but am so happy that Matt passed 15,000 sales this week and stayed Top 10 he promoted so hard last week so deserves for it to stick around for a bit and get some decent sales.

So happy the album made top 10! :yahoo:

'Anyone Else' has been confirmed as the 2nd single, out in December...

Good to see he is pushing ahead with the 2nd single so quickly! Will hopefully keep interest in the album going if he gets some exposure and hopefully he will find getting TV promo etc, easier as he has a Top 10 album to back it up and is not just relying on being a previous XF winner.

Anyone Else is a strong choice for 2nd single, if only he could get some promotion on a big audience tv show it would be great, great he did Strictly!!

Empire or nothing tbh. Anyone Else is alright but not a favourite.
I think i read somewhere that empire is lined as a third single. Im actually dreading to see where Matt's album is today when we see the midweeks.

What a shame there is no promotion or performances lined up to support further sales through the christmas period for this album. Its a great album and a lovely follow up to letters.
Close to 40k sales now - Matt has done well to sell so much independently with no big budget behind him, Hope this can pass Silver status at least in the new year.
He will manage some sales over christmas and hopefully a few more in the January sales bringing the total sales over 50.000.
Very decent album i would agree. I do hope he manages to make at least a third album.
Delighted to see the album climb 20 plaes to number 80 this week. I think many of us expected about 3 weeks top 100 maximum for this album but its holding up alot better than we expected, its a huge shame he hasnt a hit single to promote the album or even some chat show appearances. I think if the album got promoted it could have done even better.
Was SO pleased when i saw that the album had climbed from 100 to 80 especially at Christmas when there is so much more competition - Makes me think that this could return to the Top 75 in the New Year. Also pleased that this will at least pass 60,000 sales and go silver which is a massive achievement for Matt considering he has had no major promo, no hit single from the album or the backing of a major record label.
I agree with you Popbitch, also he could pick up sales when the January sales kick in, he will hopefully pass the 60,000 mark. It has done well with no major backing at all and it shows there is still interest in him. Again we see if some of these guys were managed right with the right record deal they can do well, Joe McElderry and Matt are good examples of this as if both had been luckier with the people they worked with they could have done so so much better.
