Its no surprise we have to wait 7 weeks thats the norm in the uk controlled charts but on the bright side it could mean he would have a chance of the top spot!!
REALLY like this :o It reminds me a bit of Mika :heehee: It's probably going to be just outside the top 5, since it's Robbie, but in the hands of Mika or Sam Sparro it would miss the top 40 :(
Number 2, but i think Top 5, i cant see it going to the top, he isnt the superstar he once was.
Depends on the competition that week but I can definitely see this flying to number 1 especially with him giving a master class and performing on XFactor the week of release. Its very catchy and upbeat and will pick up alot of airplay regardless of whether Radio 1 back it or not, just look at Amelia Lily this week who is coasting
Of course that is the big question, Is Robbie Williams considered 'too old' to be supported by Radio 1? It'll be interesting to see. As a 25 year old guy, I remember Robbie's golden years of Angels, Rock DJ, Strong, etc but still in the R1 target age of 15-29 year olds, so Robbie still appeals to people of my age. I can't remember if R1 supported anything off Take That's Progress (they probably played The Flood at least), but I'm sure I remember Shame on the playlist only 2 years ago so hope they give Robbie the benefit of the doubt for the lead single and see how it performs.

Anyway I put Top 10 for now, but hopefully a number 1.

R1 move their goalposts as they see fit. Although Jealousy took off like a rocket R1 refuse to play Will and have done so for many years because - quote "he doesn't appeal to their demographic".

One of Will's fans had a reply from them to an email enquiry as to why they won't play him and they added that some singers and bands get an automatic shoe-in regardless of age or song.. Will is not amongst them but he seems to be doing pretty well without their 'patronage'. So much for judging a song on it's merits - which was another of their 'excuses'

I don't follow Robbie but this song, imo, is dreadful. I agree that there's nothing like it out there. No, because Olly Murs isn't promoting anything at the moment

I don't doubt it will do well just because it's Robbie. I've voted Top 5 but it could do much better given, as someone else has said, what's around at the same time.

^^They had a excuse with will though because radio2 were heavily rotating it on their alist!

I don't see why - both stations play someone like Cheryl on heavy rotation. So the excuse that someone is purely R2 or R1 doesn't hold water.

Indeed your right-there seems to be some artists that get plays on both stations - i doubt cheryl was alisted though was she?

I have to confess I don't know.

He will find it hard to be no1 again, even take thats days as single no1 artists will be harder now since the flood didnt quite get there.

Not to mention his best song didn't even get close to #1, even though it's well past 1m now...

It reminds me of the nursery rhyme "a tisket a tasket a green and yellow basket", it's catchy but i'm not keen on it at all.

Hmm I normally hate Robbie but this is pretty good, different and really catchy. A lot better than 'Bodies'. Sounds like it could get annoying after a while though.

I'll say top 5, won't be a #1.

Oh dear god this is awful, it's Robbie though so with the guaranteed XF performance at least top 5. I really can't see this era being as big as the last one though, I don't know why.
Wasn't too sure when I heard the first half, but then it got a little more catchy by the end. It sounds like it could be a grower. I much prefer Bodies though.
I think Robbie's days as a chart supreme are all but over, I reckon this won't have a problem going top 5 initially though.
