Yeah. It's based on the upfronts and what the advertisers expect the shows to rate at and they pay based on that. Like Made In Jersey was expected to do so so so much better in 18-49's than it did and thus got an alright rate for ads. (I miss it already).

That system seems truly nonsensical. How hard is it just to pay a specific rate for next week's episode based on what this week's one scored in the ratings? Utterly bizarre!

Isn't it based on what was EXPECTED of the shows before they actually aired? I'm not sure many expected Revolution to be this big, especially not given the fate of previous shows of a similar nature like FlashForward.

I would hope that would be the case. Like Jark mentioned, it defeats commercial logic otherwise.

I think they pay on the C+3 ratings which tells them how many people watched the commercial (roughly the same as the overnights). This is the rough amount the advertisers are paying currently based on pre-airing expectations. After the Sweeps periods that amount is changed to reflect the ratings. So 666 Park Av will probably drop, The Mob Doctor may as well be on the bloody CW and Revolution will rise as nobody expected NBC to be capable of producing a hit again.

666 adjusted down to a 1.7. CBS should move The Good Wife to 10 permanently.

I can't believe how bad the ratings for 90210 and Gossip Girl are! :o

They're not even getting/barely breaking 1 million!

That being said.. I've recently returned from the US and the hotel I stayed in in New York didn't even have The CW?!

And it wasn't some crappy place, it was a Crowne Plaza!

It looks like GG is ending at the right time, but I think this will be 90210's last season for sure.

How is Hart of Dixie doing?

HoD isn't doing much better tbh.

90210 might get a 13ep final season like GG and OTH did.

Vegas and Elementary have been given full season orders.

A lot of shows which aren't exactly hits seem to be getting full seasons/extra episodes. A 2.0 is not cancellation worthy in 2012 like it was two years ago.

I think if 90210 continues on this path, they may get the writers to wrap this season with a series finale.

Then again, this season has its 100th episode so it can be syndicated and get more money in that way..

I bet they wish they had One Tree Hill's season 5/6 ratings!

A little surprised for Vegas, it seems like it might well be on the road to cancellation.

I really doubt it'll see it to the end of that order. I wonder if they, like NBC seem to be with their midseason comedies, don't have much faith in whats left on this years development slate.

2.0 is still a SMASH on NBC! :kink:

Stripped syndication only requires 88 episodes these days which is why so many poorly rated show in their 3rd season get renewed over higher rated new shows so they hit the magic 88. 100 was the benchmark a couple of years ago though.

Watched the first episode of Elementary today, hmmm, I didn't think much of it to be honest its got nothing on Sherlock With Benedict Cumberbatch

4.1 The Voice

3.2 NCIS

2.7 New Girl

2.7 NCIS: LA

2.5 Go On

2.4 The X Factor

2.2 DWTS

1.9 Happy Endings

1.9 Parenthood

1.8 The New Normal

1.7 Raising Hope

1.7 Apartment 23

1.5 Vegas

1.4 Ben & Kate

1.4 Private Practice

0.5 Hart Of Dixie

0.3 Emily Owens

Not too bad for the returning ABC comedies, I was thinking it could've been a lot worse against the FOX block. Ouch for Vegas, right after a full season order. And yay at Emily Owens, now Nikita is only the joint lowest show on the CW for now! :D
