The whole model is f***ing BROKEN. No show apart from the ones with a huge, loyal fanbase (primarily procedurals) can survive month-long hiatuses twice or three times a season. For 90% of the dramas on network TV, 22 episodes per season is a joke. They all need to adopt the cable model of 13-15 eps per season. Problem is then they won't have as much potential to make money so they'll never go for it, and most new shows will continue to last two seasons max.

I remember when 24 used to air all 24 episodes from January to May without any breaks. It was much easier to follow the plot and it worked ratings-wise.

A more recent example is The Walking Dead that split its 16-episode season in two and aired all episodes with just one break. It's an example all networks should follow.

The only problem is some breaks are taken for sports and other events, which can/should be easily worked around but I just don't get when shows go on breaks for no reason.

What was Revolution's previous series low? I see it being down to 2.0 by May. Nice numbers for The Voice.

Bit disappointing for The Following, but probably to be expected.

Nice numbers for Revolution. I was half expecting it to be 2.3 or below. Massive hit for NBC anyway. The question is now can is survive without The Voice... NBC don't seem willing to take any chance!

Well it went from a 2.9 to a 2.4 in its half hour ratings, so it seems like it's very lead in dependent.

I wonder if it stays above a 2.0 this season then NBC might take chances on it next year

Probably, its one of their few shining lights of this season. They'll probably have something else after The Voice next year

It does seem like The Voice is the main thing keeping it afloat, though even at a 2.4 in the 2nd half hour that'd still be great numbers for NBC.
I think, depending on how well the series finale goes, it may just do enough to cement itself in the low 2.0 region for most of next season which (unless NBC experience some kind of miracle) would see it continue.
5th!!! The 4th doesn't even start till June. Great news though.

I'm so excited about a fifth season of PLL.

They also announced a spin-off called 'Ravenswood' about a town close to Rosewood with a 'curse'!

Premieres after the Halloween episode of PLL.

Sorry to disappoint but I stopped watching after the first season! Not out of protest or anything, I just never caught up.
