Why anyone would buy this, I have no idea.

It's just a bit of fun. Surely people from all over the world can't be wrong in finding it enjoyable/a good listen. Personally I think it's success is down to the music video, rather than the song itself - I'm more tempted to buy the music video instead.

 

Will be interesting to see what makes the top 10 this week then. 'Good Time' has multiple versions to boost it. 'I Cry' and 'Gangnam Style' are latecomers in the week, so it'll be Fun. dropping out from the #10 position (on Sunday) and then Little Mix, David Guetta or Owly Rae.

That's my point. This is the first successful Korean pop song in I don't know how many years and it is dreadful. I thought the UK left the cheesy, tacky novelty songs in the 90s.

I think I'm pretty much the only person to be cheering both Muse and PSY, top 40 and top 10 respectively this week please. Killers being #18 combined also makes me happy.

Anyway the message from that post is basically I don't want Gangnam Style to be #1 and I hope it drops like a rock in the iTunes chart (even though it's most likely heading to #1).

We've constantly had cheesy songs in the charts. It used to be stuff like Barbie Girl, etc. In the mid 00's it was stuff like My Humps, Beep, etc. Now it's stuff like Sexy and I Know It, Whistle, etc. I don't think they'll ever go away, people like those sorts of songs too much.

I agree with you tbh Charlie :lol: It's just a fun song with a catchy beat and a funny dance (if you haven't seen the video yet, check it out, then you'll get it).
