No-one is saying that though (with maybe the exception of Griff who I'm not gonna talk about right now)? I believe I speak for most of us when I say we can see clearly why she was let go; there was a decline in interest and (for many) quality and that translated into poor sales. That's not laughing at her plight.

As far as I know I didn't get into a fight with anyone besides Griff though

If everyone can move away from this before it develops any further and continue with constructive discussion on the topic, that would be much appreciated! :D

I was joking (just trying to clear my name so that we can move on), of course I'm objective enough to see what happened. A number of different things happened to make Heartbreak On Hold flop, and Alexandra wasn't happy with that so moved on to another label. That's all there is to it in my opinion.

Now that I've given my genuine view, I can move on now.

I don't believe Heartbreak On Hold was that bad either, it was far from a perfect album but it had at least 5 killer tracks on it.

I still can't believe 'Let It Go' limped in at #33 when 'Start Without You' goes to #1 and 'Elephant' makes the top 3. Something really isn't right when things like that happen. :(

She was never as fantastic as so many claim. She made decent enough pop songs, but I echo the drop in quality and my personal opinion that she never had the qualities to be a long term popstar. It's never nice to openly laugh at somebody who has been dropped etc, but it was pretty obvious after I heard the turgid mess that was 'Elephant' that this would happen. I just didn't think it would be as catastrophic as it was...
All Night Long was her worst song! What was so appealing about that?
I'll never understand the appeal of 'All Night Long' honestly, something about it just annoyed me. 'Broken Heels' and 'Bad Boys' are the only Alex singles I have any affection for.

Yeah i completely agree. There's some good highlights on it (amongst the filth) and LIG should have been massive for all of its generic glory :(

Can't even begin to take this seriously, sorry :D

Seriously though, what was it?! It was utterly horrendous, you can't even hear a tune in it. I'm sorry but that's what I think.
Start Without You is also immensely dreadful. Both songs would be in GRIFF'S TOP 10 WORST SONGS OF ALL TIME.

Start Without You is a masterpiece. "Ey, hey, I'm like a beast"

All Night Long is still in my top 3 most played of all time. It's flawless. If you "can't hear a tune" there then I suspect your ears need some attention.

It's brilliant. I much prefer the original album version to the single version though. The "ooh ooh ooooh's" inbetween the versus are luxurious! So smooth xD

And the 808 of All Night Long is my favourite of any song ever, Love how deep her voice gets.

My best friend even used the lyrics to make this for my 18th :')

I think that Daily Mail article is very misleading and isn't presenting the complete picture.

RCA UK are absolutely broke. No one on that label is given much of a budget. When Alex moved from Syco to RCA in 2011, her original second album (which featured tracks from Rico Love and other major producers) was scrapped because RCA couldn't afford the songs so that's how HOH came about - a budget album full of faceless generic dance tracks. Alex and RCA have parted ways because RCA wanted her to stay Pop while Alex wanted to do more R&B music and also tackle America which I doubt RCA could fund. At the end of the day, Alex has made the right choice. She needed to take a risk and leave because simply staying on that record label would just lead to another HOH disaster musically and commercially but on a more catastrophic level. Alex is better going to America because she's suited more to that market and she's already building up contacts with radio DJs and producers it seems. The UK don't deserve her attention with the way the public and radio have treated her. She's a genuine talent but in typical British fashion, we back the underdog until they succeed and then we bring them back down to the ground.
