Thanks Tom, I've been completely taken in by Gangnam Style, obsessed. I wonder if this is a one off or a start of an obsession for K-Pop, for both me and the British public in general? Yeah I guess Whigfield's voice has matured over the years, 4Ever is gorgeous electro pop, didn't expect her to do anything so good at this stage of her career! I'm not sure what it is about Ariel Pink that I love, it's very 90s and it's completely won me over! Carly's album is fantastic pure pop, not sure which tracks Dragonette produced though...

I love it when foreign language songs take off in the UK, not that it ever means anything for the future, radio will still continue to ignore them which is irritating because it shows that the market is there for them! I'm not a huge fan of K-Pop overall but I'd like to see it become more successful...

Gangnam Style for a surprise #1. Just like CMM earlier this year, it's great to see a song take off & become a huge success on its own right.

Don't You Worry Child & Million Voices are really great electronic/dance songs, just like Language.

Poor Nelly Furtado. She's completely off the radar. Her album didn't flop, it bombed hard. I do however love Parking Lot!

It seems that No Doubt aren't that far behind Nelly, although they should do a bit better selling albums.

Gangnam Style for a surprise #1. Just like CMM earlier this year, it's great to see a song take off & become a huge success on its own right.

Don't You Worry Child & Million Voices are really great electronic/dance songs, just like Language.

Poor Nelly Furtado. She's completely off the radar. Her album didn't flop, it bombed hard. I do however love Parking Lot!

It seems that No Doubt aren't that far behind Nelly, although they should do a bit better selling albums.

Thanks West, indeed, it would be great to see Gangnam Style go to #1 worldwide, it's a great song that fits the public mood. I love Don't You Worry Child, it's so anthemic! I have no idea what happened to Nelly, I really like the album, although granted not as much as Loose and their aren't really any killer singles whereas that had loads. No Doubt's album is very good too!

I like Ellie's song but I can't see it being huge for me, the second half is better than the first. Does Loreen's new mix remind you of Jason DeRulo's Breathing, because that's what I thought of, it would be great to see her get a hit album but I can't imagine it happening as it won't get a push :( Ah I really like Beautiful, it's sweet! Yeah Play Hard is good only because of the amazing sample :lol:

It's BEYOND great.

 

I've only just got a big hit for the first time in months so I can empathise, and while Rush definitely felt traditionally Rontvian, it probably didn't have as wide an appeal to all the new people. :(

 

I loved Mika's last album (well, the first half of it at least) and pre-album singles for this one didn't fill me with hope but I really enjoyed the title track so I'll give it a listen on Spotify later and see what I think.

Thanks Tom, I've been completely taken in by Gangnam Style, obsessed. I wonder if this is a one off or a start of an obsession for K-Pop, for both me and the British public in general? Yeah I guess Whigfield's voice has matured over the years, 4Ever is gorgeous electro pop, didn't expect her to do anything so good at this stage of her career! I'm not sure what it is about Ariel Pink that I love, it's very 90s and it's completely won me over! Carly's album is fantastic pure pop, not sure which tracks Dragonette produced though...

 

Me too :w00t: Although I'm fairly convinced it's just a one off, that said I managed to catch the second half of a program called All New K-Pop Top 10 on Clubland last night which played a fairly abitrary top 10 K-pop videos, but it shared the same top 2 as my next week's chart :o Yes I think it has, she's much less squeaky now, although did you hear the rumour that Ann Lee sang most of her hit songs? :o I know what you mean, it's kind of grunge, but the harmonies remind me of the 60s music my (old) parents brought me up on :lol: And I will check it out ASAP, it's smashing in Japan, which is always a good sign :D
