The album served its purpose for that period bringing the group back together and recording again.

It is not a fine point musically but it was part of the process to get to the Tears in the Dancefloor album.

I agree with all the comments - the album is just lacking in personality, however the title track remains on my Christmas playlist and I've played it a few times this month, I still think it's one of their better ballads, I especially liked Lisa's bridge.

 

The melody and general vibe of the song I realised reminds me a little of Stephen Gately's New Beginning.

 

I also still listen to When She Loved Me, it's a particularly beautiful song that's hard to mess up and Claire sounds great on it - Sarah McLachlan's original is gorgeous too.

Ya i think when they came back with tears on the dancefloor and all the touring etc they really got to grips with accepting what fans want from them, steps overall is all about fun music and thats what fans want.

So random, but somebody asked Claire on her Insta live whether Light Up the World would ever be released on vinyl. To the surprise of no one, she said it isn't happening x
