October 14, 201212 yr The Media have claimed that 'Live While We're Young' is the highest Hot 100 entry ever, by a UK Act. That is wrong. It is the highest entry by a UK Group. Elton John entered at No.1, with 'Candle In The Wind '97', in 1997. The Elton John Hit sold almost 3,500,000 USA copies, in its first 6 days. So, that shows how wrong the other Media claim is - that the One Direction Single, is the fastest selling USA Hit ever, by a non-USA Act. The 1D Hit sold 341,000 in its first Week - and the Elton John Hit sold 10 times that, in its first 6 days..... Thanks for posting that. The exact "record" for 1D is "the best weekly digital sales for a song by a UK group". Because although we don't have the data, I believe that physical releases by Beatles sold more than 341 000 in one week. Wikipedia says Can't Buy Me Love sold 940k for example. The article doesn't indicate the source so don't know how reliable that is but it sold a lot more than 341k anyway. Edited October 14, 201212 yr by SKOB
October 14, 201212 yr Billboard said the Part Of Me week and this week are the only times it's EVER happened! :o I think Billboard said it's the only time there's ever been 3 Top 10 debuts in the Top Digital Songs chart?
