October 12, 201212 yr I need MP3 packs to vote really, I can use Youtube videos but it's not quite the same as having the songs on your iPod whenever you want. I'd make them a priority if I hosted, so that's very welcome Ryan.

I don't think I could go back to using the YouTube/Soundcloud links now  The mp3 packs are especially lovely because they let me make fabulous compilations of each contest's best stuff. I'm actually listening to the BJSC 48 compilation right now!
October 12, 201212 yr If I want a bit of nostalgia I just go put on the BJSC 43 compilation - I was on holiday during that contest so most of the songs remind me of stunning weather and poolsides etc. And the other compilations have their uses.
October 12, 201212 yr How one earth did Isconia > Jake Bugg – Lightning Bolt not get veto'd? Yes it may have missed the top 40 recently but it was actually released as a single a couple of months ago and had decent airplay/hype. TBH I think it's because the mods aren't that knowledgeable about indie, Silas would definitely just throw the whole lot into a big landfill somewhere in Surrey. I honestly didn't know Lightning Bolt had got anywhere near the Top 40. The charts are pretty much meaningless to me now so I don't look as much at the charts as I used to, especially the lower end. If I had known then I would not have chosen it.
October 12, 201212 yr I wouldn't say that. Cal and Ghosty are much more in tune with the indie side and that covers us more than adequately. It got through because we didn't see it as sufficient enough threat. Not because we don't know enough about indie. (I wouldn't do that to Surrey! The landfill would clearly be in Scotland.)
October 12, 201212 yr Don't worry bout it! I have no problem explaining the veto process an how we make decisions.
October 12, 201212 yr (I wouldn't do that to Surrey! The landfill would clearly be in Scotland.) HA! you could have it where i live. it's awful.
October 12, 201212 yr HA! you could have it where i live. it's awful. The west coast, the north or the borders? Awful isn't really that specific when it comes to Scotland
October 12, 201212 yr The west coast, the north or the borders? Awful isn't really that specific when it comes to Scotland  paisley!! west of scotland represent :(
October 12, 201212 yr paisley!! west of scotland represent :( Awwww, I am so sorry! That must suck endlessly. Although the M8/trainline and the escape to Edinburgh doesn't take to long.
October 12, 201212 yr All this slagging Scotland and not a moments thought for the HORRIFIC RECESSES OF RURAL WALES (having been there once I feel like I've experienced enough to judge it, it's people and every aspect of it wholly)
October 12, 201212 yr Awwww, I am so sorry! That must suck endlessly. Although the M8/trainline and the escape to Edinburgh doesn't take to long. IT'S AWFUL! but then it's so close to glasgow that you basically live there second-handedly so it's aiiight.
October 12, 201212 yr All this slagging Scotland and not a moments thought for the HORRIFIC RECESSES OF RURAL WALES (having been there once I feel like I've experienced enough to judge it, it's people and every aspect of it wholly) i went to wales once to live with my weird german auntie with no teeth and there was a shoe-house play-thing in the park for kids and it genuinely smelled like piss. my ONLY MEMORY of wales.
October 12, 201212 yr Personally I think the indie landfill still belongs somewhere in the home counties (the spiritual home of shoegaze and several useless indie bands filled with people who's real names are Tarquin and Julian and think they're being edgy mixing guitars with dance music.) Oh and I like shoegaze.
October 12, 201212 yr All this slagging Scotland and not a moments thought for the HORRIFIC RECESSES OF RURAL WALES (having been there once I feel like I've experienced enough to judge it, it's people and every aspect of it wholly) !!!! i always think wales has a certain CHARM (the kind you feel from a hopelessly thick child trying its very best). the constant lack of phone signal at my dad's place is offputting enough for me never want to return for more than 3 days though.
October 12, 201212 yr Only time I went to Wales was to see The Jesus and Mary Chain. The only time I spoke to anyone Welsh was to buy a beer at the bar so I couldn't possibly comment.
October 12, 201212 yr All this slagging Scotland and not a moments thought for the HORRIFIC RECESSES OF RURAL WALES (having been there once I feel like I've experienced enough to judge it, it's people and every aspect of it wholly) Ast os gwelwch yn dda! You obviously went to the wrong part of Wales.
October 12, 201212 yr I have Welsh family that I haven't seen in over a decade. Thats how much I just love wales. And that's the english bit.
