October 14, 201212 yr I'd dispute that 'Tame Impala' implies a heavy sound, more the opposite - 'tame' is hardly a heavy word
October 14, 201212 yr Other Swedish Acts to have UK No.1 Singles, were Europe, with 'The Final Countdown', (1986), & Rednex, with 'Cotton Eye Joe', in 1995. Roxette never had any UK No.1 Singles, despite having more than any Swedish Act in the USA - 4. Their highest placed UK Single was, 'It Must Have Been Love', which was a No.3 Hit, in 1990. I guess that Prince was the last living Artist to be on 3 Top 10 Albums, in the same Chart - and to have at least one of them credited to them:, PRINCE W/E 25th September 1993 No.4 - THE HITS/THE B-SIDES *** No.5 - THE HITS 1 *** No.6 - THE HITS 2 *** *** = All 3 were New Entries that Week Paul McCartney, & Ringo Starr, also managed it, in September 2009 - but, as part of The Beatles, so none of them were actually credited to them:, THE BEATLES (THE FIRST GROUP TO MANAGE MORE THAN 3) W/E 19th September 2009 No.5 - SERGEANT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND No.6 - ABBEY ROAD No.7 - REVOLVER No.10 - RUBBER SOUL So, Jeff Lynne is at No.7, No.8, & No.10 - with the No.8 Album being a Solo one, using ELO's name. He's re-recorded 12 of their Tracks, & he does every instrument & vocal, on that Album. So, it is not an ELO 'Hits' Album. It is a Jeff Lynne Solo Album, using the Group's name. October 14, 201212 yr Author I looked up Roxette just to check that they didn't have a number one. Of course I also worded it so that I wasn't claiming my list was complete :P Thanks for the list of multiple top ten entries. Interesting that both your examples are of albums released on the same day (remasters in the case of the Beatles). Are there any other cases (as with Jeff Lynne / ELO) where there were at least two different release dates?
October 15, 201212 yr Prince, (1993) , was the last living Artist to have 3 simultaneous Top 10 Albums, with Albums released at the same time. Where all 3 Albums were credited to that Artist. David Bowie was the last living Artist to have 3 simultaneous Top 10 Albums, (credited to him), that were released at different times:, DAVID BOWIE W/E 18th August - W/E 1st September 1973 - THREE WEEKS No.2/No.3/No.5 - ALADDIN SANE (1973) No.3/No.5/No.3 - HUNKY DORY (1972) No.7/No.6/No.8 - THE RISE & FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST & THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1972) W/E 15th September - W/E 29th September 1973 - THREE WEEKS No.4/No.5/No.3 - ALADDIN SANE (1973) No.5/No.6/No.6 - HUNKY DORY (1972) No.8/No.9/No.9 - THE RISE & FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST & THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1972) NOTE Paul McCartney also achieved it, in 1973. However, he was in Groups, when he did so. George Harrison also achieved it in 1973 - as a Solo Act, & as a Beatle. PAUL McCARTNEY The 2 Beatles Compilations were released at the same time.
