October 21, 201212 yr The only thing it is perfect for is playing to besieged dictators a la Noriega to drive them out of their minds. It is the most inane thing I have ever heard. Except maybe this which was a huge hit while I was living there. QpNu-Uc0S24 That song is not bad (for me anyways :o). Reminds me of my childhood I guess why I clicked with it. BTW thanks for that. Just listening to the album now. If you'd used something like that it would have been guaranteed points from me (but then I am an old fart so that's no indication of ultimate success :)) No problem! Rock n' Roll Circus isn't her best album though. You really should give Guilty, Secret and miss(understood) a spin through as they're much better. Microphone is the best thing about the album you are listening to (except for Sexy Little Things which is such a hot copycat of Bad Romance video wise). TBH Ayumi >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all the j/k-pop drivel (ponponpon WOT IS THIS SHIT SRSLY) that is around these days. AND that Ayumi song is amazing. Ayumi is very HIT and MISS whereas my other K-Pop acts always deliver amazing goods. :D. Well then I'll just pop this track into my potentials seeing the good reviews it's receiving (although like 2 years old)... Ughhhh Ayu sucks. But bitch is even more OVER than Koda Kumi so yay! <3 Koda Kumi is much better than Ayu but Japan is over Kuu as much as Ayu now. PLUS didn't you send Ayu once in BJSC? Why the negative view of her now? :o Edited October 21, 201212 yr by Oricon
October 21, 201212 yr As bitter as I still am, this actually was a fairly good quality final in which I liked almost every song to some extent. Semi 2 was fairly good from what I've heard, but Semi 1 was better overall. One country in particular I never expected ever to be voting for but I did...
October 21, 201212 yr Koda Kumi is much better than Ayu but Japan is over Kuu as much as Ayu now. PLUS didn't you send Ayu once in BJSC? Why the negative view of her now? :o Well I like a small handful of her songs (literally like 2 or 3) but as an artist she just holds no interest to me. Namie does everything so much better. <3
October 21, 201212 yr I really like them all, but Namie definitely edges them all out, no contest
October 21, 201212 yr Can't really disagree with that really but I love Puffy most of all. (Even though they have really sucked for years now.)
October 21, 201212 yr Well I like a small handful of her songs (literally like 2 or 3) but as an artist she just holds no interest to me. Namie does everything so much better. <3 Totally agreeing with Jark here. WTF? Of course the real queens of J-pop are Perfume <3
October 21, 201212 yr Namie bugs me as if you see her face, she's literally got no expression whatsoever and is never smiling as much. Her music is decentish I guess.. The queen of J-Pop is clearly Koda Kumi/Ayumi Hamasaki or the recent princess Kana Nishino <3. Surprised no-one has mentioned Hikaru Utada (aka. borefest artist) yet. @Tom Perfume are.......very hit and miss too. Their stuff all sounds rather the same sometimes. :( Edited October 21, 201212 yr by Oricon
October 21, 201212 yr Namie bugs me as if you see her face, she's literally got no expression whatsoever and is never smiling as much. Her music is decentish I guess... Namie is an ice cold bitch and that's 50% of why she's the reigning queen!
October 22, 201212 yr Voted. Love my 12 pointer, really liked down to about 4 points and quite liked 6 more so wasn't too hard to whittle them down.
October 23, 201212 yr Voted... that was really hard I could have voted for at least 18 sorry if I missed you out this time but the quality was very high, all the best to everyone
October 23, 201212 yr Namie is an ice cold bitch and that's 50% of why she's the reigning queen! Namie has been Queen forever! God I am having such a J-pop retro moment at the moment. Tomomi Kahala, Ami Suzuki, Ayumi, Namie, Speed, Morning Musume, Nanase Aikawa, real late 90s j-pop loveliness. Even a bit of Spitz thrown in as well. Anyway have ordered my votes just one more listen to confirm and then they'll be sent.
October 23, 201212 yr I'll vote at midday tomorrow. Haven't had time to listen to the songs from the other semi yet. :( Wah!
October 23, 201212 yr Tomomi Kahala, Ami Suzuki, Ayumi, Namie, Speed, Morning Musume, Nanase Aikawa, real late 90s j-pop loveliness. Even a bit of Spitz thrown in as well. Any Tommy February6/Heavenly6 fans here? I prefer the former, it's a shame that she seems to have basically given up on that idea.
October 23, 201212 yr Author Everyone who has yet to vote has now received 2 reminders, so hopefully everyone will vote in time! 27 out of the 45 countries have voted, remember that the deadline is 7pm tomorrow!
October 23, 201212 yr VOTED! Quite good on the whole, no songs below 4/10, so there was nothing awful, but lots of 'good but not great' entries.
October 23, 201212 yr Namie has been Queen forever! Ayumi >>>>> Namie. ALWAYS I notice some of these names, most notably Speed, Ami Suzuki and Morning Musume. As for Morning Musume, I just cannot take a liking to the cute girl groups at all. Something just puts me off. Plus it's all about AKB48 nowadays whereas Morning Musume are flops now.  Any Tommy February6/Heavenly6 fans here? I prefer the former, it's a shame that she seems to have basically given up on that idea. I....have never heard of them before. Ever. #FailureAsianPopFan
October 23, 201212 yr VOTED. I feel a bit bad, like everyone else I had LOADS of songs I wanted to vote for but couldn't, an incredibly strong final. I....have never heard of them before. Ever. #FailureAsianPopFan Flop indeed. Although I suppose she is J-indie more than J-pop. Anyway Everyday At The Bus Stop is one of my favourite J-pop songs ever.
October 23, 201212 yr I really didn't think it was a very good final at all, in fact I struggled to get 10 songs to vote for. Plus I knew every one of the 10 I did beforehand.
October 24, 201212 yr I....have never heard of them before. Ever. #FailureAsianPopFan Have you heard of The Brilliant Green. They were popular about 10years+ ago. She was the lead singer. As per usual, haven't heard morning musume lately but around 98-99 they were great. Natsukashii ne.
