I'm still not tired of it  Their absolute best for me, shame it didn't lead to anything more. :(

Huge shame it did not lead to a brand new studio album, that said, the other new songs on the Greatest Hits album did not overly excite me, but an album on the lines of Something new would have definitely went down well with me.

'On The Metro' was brilliance!

To be honest, looking back on it I'm very doubtful a new studio album would have done well. A lot can change in 4 years, and it's pretty obvious 'Something New' only peaked as high as it did through hype (as much as I adore it).

Had they released On The Metro as the lead single the story would've been very different imo
Its hard to tell how a new album would have done, the greatest hits sold well considering it was a re-hash but nostalgia can sell records even for a short time (Look at Steps re-union) but a few more good single choices to follow Something New would have seen a possible other platinum selling album at the least is what i believe or maybe like to believe.
I think an X-Factor or Brit Awards slot would have made all the difference. I liked On the Metro, but I don't think it would have done any better. I think Something New was the best thing that we got out of the era.
I think it was the best single choice for sure. I imagine a full studio album would have struggled almost as much as Ten, but a new studio album doing that poorly would have looked much worse than "oh that cheap greatest hits nobody needed".

I only just found out that Scandipop star and blog darling Tove Lo was one of the writers of Something New :o
I'd love to know what Something New has sold up to now, since it's been over a year :'(

2 years since we were all blessed with the leak of Godine's comeback single.

Can't believe it's been this long already! :o The gap between GA starting their hiatus and coming back really dragged... it seemed as if they were never going to come back. Suddenly it's 2 years since their comeback single leaked!

I still love this song so much, definitely one of my favourites of theirs. The general "meh" response it got at the time really surprised me, and the 2-14-30 chart run was just: :snif:

I agree, it's so fantastic to me. I can't believe what a luke-warm reaction it got and how it isn't even a silver certificated single. :(

- I've never forgiven Oly Murs to be honest.

Did the single "leak" though?

I remember hearing it for the first time with its radio premiere, but maybe I'm wrong?

EDIT: oh yeah it leaked actually

I think it's one of their best!

I've never been a huge fan, but I'd say this is my second favourite after 'Sexy! No No No', which is far and away their best.

I never liked it. but I doubt any other song would have done better. It was no longer their time.
