I can't believe it's been ten years since the Ten era kicked off. This still slaps a decade on. With all that's happened in the last couple of years, I just wish I'd A) really savoured this era a bit more and B) that I'd taken the plunge and just bought the tickets for the tour. That I never saw the full lineup live for myself is one of my biggest regrets.

Loved this at the time and it's only gotten better since.

I wish they'd tried with one last studio album at the time along the lines of the new material they had, it really would have fitted in with the 2012 climate so well. Although I understand why they didn't.

I still love something new and for me it's one of their best singles and would have loved an album following that sound.

its still so interesting that Beautiful was gonna be the 1st single...

God could you imagine! I’m still seething on the metro wasn’t the second single!

nicola told me she pushed for On The Metro to be the single

That's because Nicola's taste if impeccable

She was also the only one who did not want to take a break after Out of control and said she thought it was stupid when they were on top of their game. Praise the queen

Totally agree, it was a terrible time to take a break as they could have had at least one more hugely successful era following this.

I totally understand, i think at that point the friction in the band was getting more intense but its a shame it worked out the way it did,
Ya I'd say tensions were probably at one of all time highs at this point, after the ten release seems to be when things really soured.

Yes there was clearly a divide in the camp between Nicole, Kimberly, Cheryl and then Nadine with Sarah kind of being on the outside of everyone... I'll never get over Kimberly's utter disdain of Nadine in her book about her lack of commitment to the band and aspirations for solo work, but then her adoration of Cheryl when she was the one who did it first with Heartbreaker then X Factor and then Fight for this love / 3 Words.

I've never liked Kimberley since tbh.

Also the tensions during Ten seemed really high with all of them except Nadine wanting out of it. I am a little surprised looking back as both Nadine and Nicola's solo careers had bombed, surely Kimberley and Sarah saw their futures playing out there?

I agree and you would think it would have been enough to sway them to stay together if there was 4 who really wanted to continue unless they knew Cheryl wanted more time away.
i don't imagine Nicola's solo career particularly bombed as i can't imagine anyone in her team really had high hopes of her doing THAT well. it had such limited promo besides a performance at GAY and a CD signing in london and a few interviews.

They had enough hopes to allow her to record an album which, back then, they would expect to sell enough to make back a profit. No record label was ever going to record an album they did not think would sell.

I agree I'd say the label had hopes for far better sales than it got and to fair the album deserved to have done a way better than it did. Its easily the best solo album from girls aloud.
