5 years ago to this day since the 2nd greatest album of all time was recorded? It seems far longer though for some reason. I always think she took a huge break between 'Blackout' and 'Circus'! But it was only a little over a year

'Hot As Ice' still sounds as amazing as ever though

a modern masterpiece and possibly my favourite album ever.

The golden 90s have faded so much by now that I can also call it my favourite album in the history of foreverbabes. A non-stop party, amazing production, fits in superbly with her state of mind at the time and the fact that there were so low expectations by the record buying public adds an extra dimension of amayzitude. For me theres still not a single track that has aged on this record.

Gon give it a few spins today!

Wasn't Femme Fatale supposed to be 'Blackout 2.0' before everything went wrong?

Originally it was suppose to be a darker album, more ballad heavy, but her label wanted hits.

I don't remember anyone saying it was Blackout 2.0?

I love Femme Fatale, but 'Blackout' is (imo) the best pop album of all time.

I think Femme Fatale was originally planned as Britney's "Ray Of Light", but it ended up being a club album.

Blackout is, in my opinion, the best album of the last 2 decades (that to say the least) and I guess it would be hard to replicate.

In order for us to get another awesome album we will need more personal input from Britney.

'In The Zone' holds the most songs on an album written by her... and 2/3 of the singles (I still refuse to count 'Outrageous') was written by her. It was the era that brought her securely into an adult audience. She even co-produced some of the songs, one of them being one of her biggest hits, 'Everytime'.

I wasn't too sold on her artistic expression on 'Blackout'... but once it came out in the court hearings recently that it was basically constructed by Britney with no manager at all (said by her labels CEO), I think major props are deserved. She sought out those producers, she sought out a specific sound and she f***ing rocked the shit out of it. I'm not taking any credit away from the producers that helped make the album what it was. But what Britney wanted came out exclusively with 'Blackout', I think that was the most artistic freedom she ever had. And it was the best album she ever released.
