'Lovebird' is one of the weakest songs on the entire album. Ugh. It's not even that terrible, it's just so nothingy. Pretty much every other song is better than this.

Fireflies is my favourite on the album along with Glassheart and Fingerprint. :( It would have been so good for an X Factor final performance too!

I do still love Lovebirds, but I wish they'd stayed with 'Fireflies'. I thought they'd already filmed the video for it :o

This is a disaster. Lovebird is a weak song in my opinion.

Is it still going to be released on 26 November?

Okay...no words really, we get no real information or regular updates. Disapointed to say but this is being handled so badly.

Surprised at the bad response. I think "Lovebird" is a much better song for radio than "Fireflies" and the stronger single. I'm sure Leona will perform "Fireflies" on some shows though and it could be a single in the future.

Lovebird is definitely more radio friendly, but I doubt it'll be even supported by radio. Come Alive and Glassheart are the two singles radio would even consider playing I'd say.

The thing i'm annoyed with is we were told a video was being shot weeks ago for Fireflies, a lyric video has been put up, then its decided Lovebird is going to be the next single not fireflies...with no real announcement... the expected release date was 26th Nov, that is a couple of weeks away so how could that even be possible?

Just disapointed at the mess this is all becoming when this era really needed to be well thought out. (ie: Any of Rihanna eras, Katy Perry Teenage Dream etc)

We waited so long, there was so much time, singles should have been chosen already before the album was even released, more organisation is needed in my opinion, just a shame as its such a great album. I'm sure it isnt over just yet, but I mean in it's 4th week it's down to #44 in the midweeks, that is not even one month in top 40? Its crazy, what is being done about it? Nothing at the moment it seems...

So they've changed an already bad single choice to an even worse one?!

I think at this stage they must be looking for an excuse to drop her, there's no other explanation. If I was her right now, I'd be doing everything I can to fight against this farce.

Even though its a much better song choice, I can't see it doing that well. I think Leona's career with SYCO is over. Not sure she can recover now. Radio have lost interest and so have the general public. I think she just doesnt connect with the general public anymore. Its a shame. She's certainly the best female single to ever come out of a reality TV show.

It's already being picked up by stations. Clyde 1 is starting to spin it (biggest station in Scotland) and a few other decent-sized stations have started giving it plays. The release date is 3/12/12 for "Lovebird", so expect next week to be the week that it will start to pick up. I think BBC Radio 2 will playlist it. They played it a few times when Glassheart was album of the week, while they didn't play "Fireflies" IIRC.

Also, the campaign had to be halted for about a week or so, as Leona fell ill with tonsilitis. Because of that, she had to cancel a BBC Radio 2 concert last week, which would have helped out the album a bit. In terms of the era, it is partially Leona's fault. She pushed for "Trouble" to be released and the same for "Fireflies". "Fireflies" actually got a lot of negative feedback as a single choice on her facebook/twitter and I think the label took note of that and pushed for "Lovebird" over "Fireflies". It doesn't harm anyone to have a "Fireflies" lyric video anyway, they could even make a lyric video for every song on the album, like P!nk's The Truth About Love album. I'm sure the video for "Lovebird" will be shot and released in the next two weeks and that Leona will perform on the X-factor Semi-final or final.

I do feel this should have been handled better, but there's not much we can do unfortunately. If they do not release "Glassheart", I will be very angry and I think us fans should take action. (Twitter/Facebook/Petitions ect).

I like your optimism Environment, and hoping things will pick up, it just isnt the way I, and i'm sure many others, saw this era going. I mean they've pushed for lovebird over fireflies, but if they saw the feedback surely Glassheart would have been chosen? Maybe they have a big plan releasing that next year? We'll see.

Perhaps. Today saw "Lovebird" starting to take off on radio at least. It gained 28 plays according to Compare My Radio, so looks like word of it as the next single has gotten out to radio djs. :)

This looks like it will be released as the lead single in Europe. A Spanish Sony Music article says it's the lead single in spain and that the video is currently being made and will be released in December

Should lead with Glassheart WW and have that as the 3rd single beginning of 2013 in the UK. Unlikely, but would be best.

BBC Radio 2 gave it a spin today, despite it not being playlisted. Things look good that they will playlist it this coming Wednesday.

Also, the release has been pushed back a week, to the 10th December. So looks like she'll be performing it on the X-factor final I think.

Yes i think Syco will have her singing it on the x factor final, I adore ''LoveBird'' but GlassHeart should of been next single and WW single.

Glad she'll perform (hopefully) on X Factor final (duet with Ella Henderson would be amazing please) but my main concern is about radio and TV support, TV is always much better with supporting but hoping radio will pick up support for Lovebird, not sure how likely that is though.

She needs big promo slots though to boost Glassheart back in the top 40!!!!
