If Hilary Clinton has to pull out of the race does that mean Donald Trump wins by default? Really hope that doesn't happen.

No. The DNC meets and votes for another candidate. May be VP candidate Tim Kaine but may not be. However if Hillary was elected but died or resigned before Jan. 20th then the Constitutuion states that the VP elect would be sworn in as President and he'd have to pick a new VP.

I mean I know I'm seeming a little unhinged right now, but it's mostly in disbelief at just how utterly immoral everyone has to be for this to even be a point of discussion.

.

Calm down dear. Of course it's a point of discussion. Did you watch the news this morning? The video was shown over and over again. It's all over the news around the world and on social media too. This can't be swept under the carpet. The job of POTUS is very stressful and doesn't involve just sitting behind a desk all day. There are summits and meetings to attend and endless decisions to be made. If a candidate is ill and may not be up to the job then the US people have a right to know and maybe change their vote accordingly. Both candidates should have a full independant medical before accepting the Nomination. Just been listening to LBC and the presenter who correctly predicted that Boris wouldn't contest the leadership thinks she'll withdraw by the weekend.

ANYONE who thinks Hillary is going to drop out is a FOOL. This isn't like Boris at all. He knows he can potentially run again a few years down the line, if the conditions are right. This is it for her, if she doesn't make it now she never will. And yes of course she's going to be selfish about it, anyone would be in the position, quite aside from the fact she is still WINNING.

The point of discussion that someone having a bout of pneumonia should in any way disqualify them from the role of presidency is deeply immoral, yes. Not least when we're talking about someone who is running against an actual sociopath. I'm not sure how saying 'people are discussing it' invalidates that point. I'm saying the people discussing the point are cunts. Full blown cunts. Terrible people. People who really need a bullet in the tits for even considering the false equivalence that someone having a lung condition could therefore be a worse option for the presidency than a man who is an open racist and narcissist without a care for how his disgusting words, actions and policies affect the lives of women, immigrants and people of colour. They deserve to rot for perpetuating this utter fucking nonsense for the sake of a few media talking points.

The sooner this election is over, the better.

I really doubt that yesterday's incident in itself is going to shift (m)any votes, but there's surely a big danger that she'll be indirectly damaged -- pneumonia can often hang around for weeks on end for older people. If she has to significantly cut down her schedule in the next few weeks, she'll essentially be leaving the field clear to Trump to control the whole "narrative" of the election, and leaves him to win voters over without any meaningful counter from the other side (and, irrational hysteria about her "health" aside, there remains a hell of a lot of potential traction for Trump's fundamental message). And in Clinton's absence, it's not like that Tim Kaine guy, the dictionary-definition of "low-energy", is going to be much good at filling the void.

Hillary: maintains grueling campaign schedule despite pneumonia

Trump: whines when GOP debate exceeds two hours

Media: CAN HILLARY TAKE IT?

This election has been the ugliest and most disenchanting in modern US history. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think Trump has a legitimate chance at winning. It's terrifying to think that that amoral racist and sexist vulgarian could succeed Obama as POTUS. I'm still waiting for the debates to gauge Trump's overall chances though, if he even agrees to take part in them.

Same.

If he doesn't participate it only further shows what a pussy he is.

Stop posting spam sites as actual news coverage, TBH.
Meanwhile, all the fuss about Hillary Clinton has meant that the story about Trump's reaction to the Sep 11 attacks has been largely ignored. You know the one. The one about how he boasted that the collapse of the Twin Towers meant that he owned the tallest building in New York. Surely that is far more disrespectful to the dead than daring to be ill.

He's already going on about how they're going to be "unfair" to him (i.e. they won't let him just lie and BS and do junior high school style insults for 90 minutes unmoderated). It's so utterly stupid that he's saying Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment makes her "unfit for the presidency" after all the completely inane comments he's made this election and over the years, plus his awful race-baiting and entertaining of tin-foil hat conspiracy theories. I've abhorred this idiot since his sexist tirade against Rosie O'Donnell in 2007, all because she did this brief slightly exaggerated impression of him on The View. He's such a narcissist that he can't even take a joke or laugh at himself.

Not disrespectful at all and just stating a fact.

Not disrespectful at all and just stating a fact.

It may have been a fact but to use the horrific events of 9/11 as a chance to bolster ones own ego and expose such a total lack of decency or humanity is pretty much the definition of disrespectful.

Well I think the last year has shown that a little old thing like THE TRUTH is entirely separate to anything and everything he says.
Not disrespectful at all and just stating a fact.

Media: OMG, hundreds, if not thousands of people have just died, the city and country is in standstill, the pentagon has been attacked, a plane has gone down over Pennsylvania and thousdands are breathing in toxic waste from the awful images of the collapsing towers.

Trump: That makes my building the highest in NYC now, like it used to be.

I'm paraphrasing. He may as well have done what he usually does and make a statement not even remotely connected to the question, cos you know he's dangerously stupid, knows nothing and is incapable and heartless.

Not disrespectful at all and just stating a fact.

HEY I'VE GOT THE BIGGEST BUILDING NOW in the middle of a terrorist atrocity when 3,000 have just died is a bit disrespectful, yeah.

Not disrespectful at all and just stating a fact.

I look forward to you saying the same thing when somebody responds to the news that the queen has died with a comment about the new king being a weirdo with big ears.
