Sadly, those stories are exactly what I expected. Not to undermine the others but I am particularly shocked by the catcalling response one though because it really does mean that its back to white males 'against' everyone. It is literally America's version of Brexit where people think racism is legitimised. It now just seems to me that Brexit was just the start of it all and it's going to continue in many other countries across Europe.

Exactly spot on with this. My number one reason why history is an absolutely crucial subject to study, even if not strictly academically, so that everyone is aware of the consequences of history and knows the factors and the warning signs so that a better educated populace can help avoid us as a human race repeating the mistakes of the past. The past few years have gone quite a bit too close to the late 1920s/early 1930s for my liking.

How is it 'smearing' Trump supporters to call them racist for voting for an openly racist candidate? The term isn't a slur. It means 'someone who does racist things'. Voting for a racist to be president is undoubtedly a racist thing. And please, dear god, do not come back to me with attempted claims that Trump is not a racist.

Stating a fact is always acceptable. I'm not being vindictive in any way, simply stating that one of the main forces behind Donald Trump and his campaign was a deep racist appeal and undertone.
