December 5, 201212 yr I always though "American Woman" charted! Shame as it was a decent track. "Fighting Butterflies" ewwwww - cheesy track, cheesy singer and well crap.
December 5, 201212 yr Why, thanks very much, there is a little treat for you before year end I've only just realised you've started doing the #2 countdown again. Definitely my favourite of your threads. :D
December 6, 201212 yr Author KUSHA LAS PLAYAS- LAS KETCHUP http://www.12inch.de/l/46155.jpg PEAK POSITION: DNC SALES: 1K FOLLOW UP TO: THE KETCHUP SONG I know- who knew this existed? It clearly bombed but the girls sung the whole thing in Spanish and hadn’t managed to break down UK audiences via the summer holiday before it was released, and besides singing about a trip to the beach in winter in the UK is unlikely to be tempting. I know there have been comments that this was never released in the UK but something must have been as I can't imagine a follow up to a No 1 single wasn't forthcoming? December 6, 201212 yr Author WIDE RIVER- STEVE MILLER BAND http://www.jcrmusicnews.com/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/Wide_River_4d846737550af.jpg PEAK POSITION: DNC SALES: 1K FOLLOW UP TO: THE JOKER For all those that still feel aggrieved by the fact that Deee-lite were denied a No 1 by 8 copies here’s some pop karma served up from you in the form of this flop from the Steve Miller Band that took 3 years to emerge and probably sold 8 copies in total! Like Kravitz, the lack of an advert to power the song proved fatal to this release, that and the fact that it’s instantly forgettable. In a summer with Shaggy, So Solid Crew, and Uncle Kracker, “Do You Really Like It” fitted perfectly with the times, foolish of them to think that their blend of garage and pop would still be wanted before the end of 2001. I can’t recall any publicity for this song at all, maybe I didn’t want to- anyhooo flop ahoy! MORAL OF THE STORY: TRY NOT TO FOLLOW THE FAD OF THE DAY iymm3lLHviE

December 6, 201212 yr I've never heard that Pied Piper song before. In fact i didn't even know it existed. Im not surprised it didn't chart, that video must have been recorded with a potato  Edited December 6, 201212 yr by Rudolph Escobar
December 6, 201212 yr I hated 'Do You Really Like It' SO much. :puke: It was worse because all the annoying wannabe chavs at school were obsessed with it for months.
December 7, 201212 yr Was We R Here definitely released? I always thought it was one of those last minute pulled releases that always used to happen in the early 00s...

December 7, 201212 yr Author FEEL THE LOVE- RUI DA SILVA http://i4.ytimg.com/vi/ODPCrp0KHXA/mqdefault.jpg PEAK POSITION: DNC SALES: 1K FOLLOW UP TO: TOUCH ME Poor Rui Da Silva, his one big hit gave him no royalties as he had to give them all away due to an uncleared sample of a Spandau Ballet hit, and then his follow up performing so badly means I don’t think he made much from music. December 7, 201212 yr Author ON AND ON- YANOU http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/300x300/10089645.jpg PEAK POSITION: DNC SALES: 1K FOLLOW UP TO: HEAVEN Oh one that I quite like! Quite why it was all about the “zany” DJ Sammy I don’t know but Yanou got equal credit on the track so makes our list along with Do who also features here. Nothing remarkable really but it isn’t a cover so it failed without the rather more publicity friendly frontman. He went on to be a member of Cascada so did get another blast of fame and of course registers twice on this rundown! December 7, 201212 yr Author Many thanks again for all your contributions to the thread over the last month!
December 7, 201212 yr Thanks Gezza, been another great thread! Poor Yanou/Do, it's a crying shame that none of Do's solo material was released here, Angel By My Side was particularly gorgeous. Pretty sure she's still a successful solo star in The Netherlands! Until further singles, most people I knew presumed that Do WAS DJ Sammy
December 7, 201212 yr Thanks Gezza! Loved the thread (although some did entries did depress me like Kanye and La Roux :()
